Let's start at the very beginning with the birth of the Silver Bloggers Community 2 years ago, on 17 April 2021, after a casual comment from Flowing River.
A tad impulsive, as always, but not before first checking in with two very special, wise souls, and they are Sassy LUT, and Sterling Silver, both who steered me in the right direction, and to the right people.
I officially introduced our community on 20 April, followed by the inaugural post from our Mother Account a couple of days later.
The Silver Bloggers founders
I could not have done this on my own and managed to gather a team of some of the best Hivers around the Hivesphere - our super efficient admin Silver Flower, Sterling Silver, Silver Scribe with Hi-Ho Silver in the background due to ill health. Both Sterling Silver and Silver Scribe were central to our work, especially as advisors and part of the Blog of the Week judging panel.
Although they're no longer involved in our day-to-day running, we know they are all behind us. So, to everyone mentioned above, a very big:
The First Two Years
Never, in a million years, did any of us think that the community would have achieved what it has these past two years.
If you think that life slows down when those silver threads start multiplying, you are in for a rude awakening; or rather, the ride of your lives!
Reading the posts written by our members these past two years is a testament to this statement.
The Silver Bloggers Sassy Team
Fiona and I are still here despite a couple of bumpy rides, but we needed more hands on deck.
We were blessed with acquiring some of the very best talent here in Hive with our two brilliant Moderators Silver Cat, and Silver Scot with our silent partner, the techno-wizard, graphic designer & caretaker advisor Silver Dude popping in, as and when he can.
Milestones
- The Blog of the Week #bow in Fiona's words,
took off like a steam train!
Blog of the Month #bom replaced #bow as we simply could not keep up with the pace - we may be silver but we still have day jobs.
Silver Names soon became a thing and Silver Dude took the concept to a whole new level. If you would like one and haven't chosen yours, here's what to do.
Silver prompts is Silver Cat's clever creation to help with writer's block, but is taking a rest for the month of April, because of the
Silver Prompt and Dreemport Collab in April, giving us the opportunity to get more eyes on our blogs, and interact with Hivers from other communities.
Silver Threads has nothing to do with your hair, and we can thank the trailblazing Silver Scot for getting the Silver Bloggers to work Leo Finance Threads - kind of a twitter on Hive, BUT you earn LEO while
tweetingthreading.
@silverlions.leo was born to help us threading and already is becoming a roaring success as we now also have the:Silver Bloggers Weekly Author of the Week, a fantastic initiative with super rewards by some of the bigger accounts in Hive, so, head on over there and take part in the poll, who knows, you may just be the next big winner! Silver Scot has our very dear Silver Cat assisting him; two real buzzy bees, our Mods!
Incubation and support
We would be remiss in not thanking the team at @ocd for their awesome support of our community. In addition to @macchiata who was our guardian angel when we were still little babes here, we need to make special mention of @acidyo under whose leadership it operates.
The numbers
As I write, we now have 1730 subscribers. Similarly, delegations have increased to just over 9000 HP.
