⚡strengthening the planche straddle⚡
Hello to the entire #Hive and #SWC community! I hope all the calisthenics athletes who are part of this incredible movement are getting stronger and more motivated every day. Today I want to share with you a little about my training session, which focused on improving my planche straddle, one of the most challenging but also most satisfying movements in calisthenics.
I started, as always, with a warm-up focused on preparing my joints. I performed lean planche movements and worked on the handstand to find a good balance, spending about 30 minutes on this initial phase. I made sure to perform each repetition with refined technique and good form, as a good warm-up is key to avoiding injuries and achieving better performance. I then moved on to the planche straddle, practicing the lean planche in two variations: supine and prone, to work different angles and better activate the muscles. Once I was fully prepared, I performed the planche straddle in a supine position, holding for three seconds before taking a two-minute rest. Then, I repeated the movement prone, aiming to maintain a 90-degree angle. I performed this routine three times, with 5 to 6-minute rests between each set, focusing on technique and quality of movement over quantity.
To close out the session, I included foundation work: lean planche push-ups both supine and prone, holding the position for six seconds before doing four repetitions of push-ups. Between variations, I rested for about two minutes, ensuring clean execution in each repetition. These exercises are essential for continuing to gain strength and stability in the planche straddle, achieving increasingly more seconds in this static position.
