Thinking negative is natural. We can't skip negative thoughts about something even if we want to. But if you find yourself or others always prefer thinking negatively about someone or something, then it must be 'negativity bias.' It does sound like a disease, but the good news is it's curable, and the process is very simple.
But before that, we have to understand whether we have negativity biases or not. Observing thyself and asking questions can help a lot. Recall some of your experience, good and bad to review how you reacted and responded about that. Also, take some imaginary scenario and think about how you will feel. This process will give you a clear idea about yourself.
Let me give you an example!
If you see a couple arguing, you quickly come up with a conclusion that they must be having relationship issues. Or if you think about riding a bicycle, the first thing that comes up in your mind is making an accident. In both cases, what you are thinking may not be true. And in most of the cases, our negative thoughts just come out as thought bubbles.
It's way more necessary to find out what makes us feel and think so negatively. Because this negativity can ruin our happiness. Replacing positive thoughts, practicing positivity in every aspect of life can gradually help us to get rid of this. Negative bias often comes from past bad experiences and if we have a lack of confidence. So confronting these two can give us quick solution.
Shift your thinking process, self-talk from negative to positive and you will see a lot of positive changes in life!
