Cream of pea soup with ham and hard-boiled egg [ENG-ESP]

Hello everyone! Today I bring a recipe for those who don't like peas very much, as I don't like them very much, but I found a couple of recipes with them that I can eat to my heart's content. This is one of them: cream of peas with crispy serrano ham and hard boiled egg.

¡Hola a todos! Hoy traigo una receta para quienes no les gustan mucho los guisantes, ya que a mí no es algo que me agrade mucho, pero encontré un par de recetas con ellos que sí que puedo comerme a gusto. Esta es una de ellas: Crema de guisantes con jamón serrano crujiente y huevo duro.

Ingredientes:

1 patata grande o 2 patatas pequeñas
1 lata de guisantes (utilicé una lata porque es lo que tenía en casa)
Media cebolla
Agua para la cocción
Sal y pimienta al gusto
1 huevo
1 loncha de jamón serrano (si en tu país no hay, puedes sustituir por jamón york o pavo)
Curry amarillo en especia
Paprika en especia

Ingredients:

1 large potato or 2 small potatoes
1 can of peas (I used one can because that's what I had at home)
Half an onion
Water for cooking
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg
1 slice of serrano ham (if not available in your country, you can substitute ham or turkey)
Yellow curry spice
Paprika spice

Step 1: Bring salted water to a boil in a pot. Peel and cut the potato, also cut the onion into small pieces and add it to the pot. We open the can of peas and add them too.

Paso 1: Ponemos a hervir en una olla agua con sal. Pelamos y cortamos la patata, cortamos también la cebolla en trozos pequeños y lo añadimos a la olla. Abrimos la lata de guisantes y los añadimos también.

Step 2: While the potatoes are cooking with the peas in the pot, we put another pot on the side with an egg to cook it.

Paso 2: Mientras se cocinan las patatas con los guisantes en la olla, ponemos otra olla a parte con un huevo para cocerlo.

Step 3: Once we prick with a fork and see that the potatoes are tender, we put them together with the peas, the onion and the water from the pot in a blender and we beat it. We can reserve a handful of uncrushed peas to garnish the final dish.

Paso 3: Una vez que pinchamos con un tenedor y vemos que las patatas están tiernas, Las echamos junto a los guisantes, la cebolla y el agua de la olla en una batidora y lo batimos. Podemos reservar un puñado de guisantes sin triturar para adornar el plato final.

Step 4: Add the spices and continue beating a little.

Paso 4: Añadimos las especias y continuamos batiendo un poco.

Step 5: If our egg is already cooked, we take it out of the pot and put it in a bowl of cold water with ice to stop the cooking. Peel it and cut it into slices. Take a slice of serrano ham and, to make it crispy, wrap it in kitchen paper and put it in the microwave for 1 minute.

Paso 5: Si nuestro huevo ya está cocido, lo sacamos de la olla y lo metemos en un cuenco de agua fría con hielo para parar la cocción. Lo pelamos y lo cortamos en lonchas. Cogemos una loncha de jamón serrano y, para hacer que quede crujiente, lo envolvemos en papel de cocina y lo metemos en el microondas por 1 minuto.

Step 6: In this way the ham is crunchy, we can cut the slice by hand and sprinkle it on top of the pea cream, together with the hard-boiled egg and the peas that we previously reserved to decorate the dish.

Paso 6: De esta manera el jamón queda crujiente, podemos partir la loncha con la mano y espolvorear por encima de la crema de guisantes, junto al huevo duro y los guisantes que reservamos previamente para adornar el plato.
