I have never been into cooking. It's not that I don't like to try it, but I think I am not good enough to achieve a good taste of food. Yet, I can always watch others cook and learn from their recipes and suggestions.
There are times that I can be with someone inside the kitchen to help them prepare, or to only talk to them about nonsense things. Whenver my Mama cooks, I always watch her and start conversations that will not end until it's time to serve the foods. But in this blog, it's different.
When my friends and I had our beach getaway, we had to cook our own foods. And since I do not know how, I only help in preparations and not in cooking itself. Here's a glimpse of how we enjoy making our version of the famous Filipino-Style spaghetti.
This food is usually served during birthdays and other occasions. I think most Filipinos will agree with me. One of my friends celebrated her birthday but we did not get a chance to be with her that day. Then, she promised to cook spaghetti for us, and the day finally came.
Sometimes it does not really matter what food your friends prepare during their special day, but the fact that they invited you over already means they consider you special and part of their lives. My friend brought everything she needed for her recipe, and we put them together in a table for an easier access when she already started the cooking.
Like what I have mentioned, I am only here to help on the preparations. I helped in slicing some onions and garlics. These two are first ingredients needed for cooking the sauce. I separated the two when I was done slicing them. I already set them aside after and asked for the next ingredient to prepare.
My friend asked if I could slice some hotdogs, while they are busy starting a fire since we had to cook using some fried woods. I said yes and grabbed the pack of hotdogs, and started peeling them off one by one. After that, I sliced them into small pieces and put them on a separated plate. Then, I saw them boiling water for the noodles.
When everything was ready and the water was already boiling, they put the noodles and got the ingredients ready for cooking the sause in the table. We had a Butane gas stove where we cooked the noodles.
While cooking the noodles, they also started to make the sauce. It was the most important part since it's where the taste will come from when combined with the pasta. I asked my friend about her secret ingredient when cooking spaghetti, and she told and showed us the two ingredients that she puts when cooking her version of spaghetti. The condensed milk and all-purpose cream.
After a few minutes of cooking, both the noodles and sauce are already ready. We only waited for a couple of minutes before we combined them since it was still hot. I helped in putting the two in the container. First, we only put the cooked spaghetti noodles.
Next, we mixed the sauce well. It was just enough and tasted really good. Actually, it was too much for the three of us, so we gave some to our friend's neighbors.
I don't know if you also cook spaghetti this way. But I guess each person has different ways on how they cook a particular dish. This version was tasty and so delicious.
I cannot express how thankful I am to those who have taken the time to read what I have written today. Your support means everything to me. Please acknowledge the sincere thanks I feel for each and every one of you. I hope to see you on my next blog and look forward to it!
