
First, a little set up.
The VA, in its "Infinite Wisdom" Sarcastic Font Missing☺ continues to refuse to see it's patients in person.
So rather than having me come in to be "evaluated" they will pay a civilian Dr to do this.
Our Government at work. SMH.
So I went, all I needed was another fill of the Prednisone that I got from the previous visit to this Dr, for the Poison Ivy. As long as I have work in the back yard, I assume I will not be subject to this problem.
Before I left, I had my usual 2 apples for B'fast, plus several healthy spoons full of this Ham salad from almost a week ago. I am so sick of it now.
I went, got checked out, and while there I asked for a new "Brain Scrape" and a Covid-19 Antibody Blood test.
They sent the prescription to the Kroger Pharmacy.
That meant I was going into Kroger (grocery store) HUNGRY!
That is never a wise thing for me to do. While waiting for my prescription to be filled, I went looking, and of course I found stuff.
Including bags to use for putting the last of the BIG HAM into the Freezer (thank god! Now I don't have to look at it)
So, 2 days ago, when I had my Impromptu Braai, I had some Asparagus I'd intended to cook to go with the Salmon.
I forgot. It's been in my fridge uncooked now for almost a week.
While browsing the store, I bought yet another Salmon Cedar Plank steak, I found a very good deal on a good sized Boneless Chuck Steak (half price, now in the freezer), 4 "Cheddar Jalapeño/Pepperjack Hamburger" patties (also marked down) and a vegetable beef pot roast kit. All marked down.
My fridge is full now, and so is my belly.
So first I had to put all that away, my neighbor asked me to go with to "The Home Depot" for my Military Discount (they call me their Home Depot Bitch 🤣) so when I got home, I divvied up all the meat into containers and stored stuff.
Leaving out one of the beef patties.
From the "Braai" I had tri-color potatoes left, so I put them in the air fryer, they would take longer than anything else to cook.
(Those purple things are real potatoes, no 💩!
I greased up my grill pan and set it to heating, cut about 2 inches off the ends of the asparagus, waited for the salted water with butter to boil, then dropped the asparagus, and a few slices of Portabella 'shrooms into the water.
Just as that was becoming tender, I put the hamburger patty on to cook.
Long and short, I had:
"Steamed Asparagus with mushrooms" with 4 cheese Alfredo sauce, and Parmigiano-Reggiano grated fresh over the top (that will show in a moment)
With a charred burger
And the Roasted Potatoes
And that was my lunch today. I am about to 'splode
If I have ANYTHING later, it will be a salad, possibly some sherbet or yogurt before bed.
