Nicht das Handelsdefizit (das Dienstleistungen, Big-Tech und den Finanzmarkt nicht inkludiert) ist das Problem, sondern das Budgetdefizit, das Deficit-Spending und die Staatsschulden sind es. Zölle werden das Fiatgeld-Problem nicht lösen.
Die USA haben Staatsschulden von 36 Billionen, circa 125% des BIP und müssen jedes Jahr über 1 Billion an Zinsen für die Staatsschulden zahlen.
Die USA machen enorme Schulden, das Budgetdefizit betrug letztes Jahr über 6% des BIP oder 1.8 Billionen Dollar, was heftig ist.
Nicht wegen dem Handelsdefizit, sondern weil der Staat jedes Jahr mehr ausgibt als er einnimmt und finanziert das mit Schulden, Inflation und muss dafür auch noch hohe Zinsen bezahlen.
Das ist das wahre Problem, nicht das Handelsdefizit oder die Zölle. Wenn der Staat nicht jedes Jahr so hohe Schulden machen würde, würden die Leute auch nicht so viel im Ausland kaufen können.

The US has a national debt of 36 trillion, about 125% of GDP and has to pay over 1 trillion in interest on the national debt alone every year.

Not because of the trade deficit, but because the government spends more than it earns every year and finances this with debt, inflation and has to pay high interest rates.
That is the real problem, not the trade deficit or the tariffs. If the state didn't run up so much debt every year, people wouldn't be able to buy so much abroad.
