Today, I feel that sharing my personal experiences on how I was able to peak up as a child for spelling and pronunciation of words will be good. Why I choose to share this little experience of mine because it was not easy then to start spelling words and pronunciation. Why because I didn't grow up with a family member who motivated me on how to spell and pronounce words. I know most of us around the world have faced the same challenge of not having anyone around that will encourage and guide us on how to spell and pronounce words. I believe without having anyone around you, you can still become intelligent to spell and pronounce words. This can be possible through determination.
Determination: In everything that we do in life, we need to be determined with it so that we can achieve it. Before I became good with spelling and pronunciation of words, I took a very good determination knowing fully well that no one was there to assist me with spelling and pronunciation of words teaching. What I meant is that I worked very hard to improve the spelling and pronunciation of words.
How I started with the spelling of words:
Remember that all that I'm sharing here is based on my personal experience with the spelling of words. I want to state it categorically that even up till now, I'm still growing up and trying to cope with some spellings. This is because spelling and pronunciation never end. English keeps growing day by day.
Before I was able to start spelling words, I didn't have anyone to help me with the teaching whether as a home teacher or instructor. When I noticed this and if I don't make any good steps to help myself, I may end up not knowing how to spell some words.
I took a determination that I must know how to spell some words correctly. Before the determination, most of my schoolmates used to laugh at me for not knowing how to spell correctly. Though, they didn't understand what I was passing through by not having anyone at home that do assist me with some home classes.
Starting from the day my schoolmates used to laugh at me for failing to spell some words in class. I do return home. When I sleep a little, I used to be bothered and full of anger, confusion, and frustration. But my negative feelings were never the solution but finding the way forward that will be of help.
I asked myself if I need to first know the twenty-six alphabet. I called one of my close friends and told him to help me talk to the mother about teaching me how I can comfortably read the alphabet. This was how my friend's mother help me with knowing how to read the alphabet off-hand.
When I noticed that I was already good with alphabet reading. I started following my friend to his home class. There in the home class, the teacher used to teach us about the spelling of words. We started with two later words like (is, he, me, go, to and many more). When we finished with two later words, we jumped into three, four, five, and others.
Anytime I'm done with the home spelling class if I'm passing any place and I saw any words related to the ones will learn. I'll stand there and start spelling them one after the other. When I kept on doing this, I became used to word spelling and keep memorizing it.
Pronunciations:
For pronunciation of words, I didn't find it difficult again the time I became good with the spelling of words. But I still put in more effort.
For me, I started with the pronunciation of names like people, place, and others. When I continued with the names of people and places, I became better at pronouncing words. From there, I jumped into pronouncing other small words.
With the help of consistency with bible reading and teaching, I become better at pronouncing words.
Anytime I'm sleeping, I used to dream when I'm pronouncing words, and when I wake up, I'll take my book and start a rehearsal of spelling and word pronunciation.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I know you have your own experience to share.
