Welcome to this last QOTW of Season 8! It has been an enlightening journey so far this season with so many questions asked and answered on this very popular theme of ACTION! I would like to thank everyone for taking part, with as many as 70 people answering on any given week! That is amazing really and makes QOTW one of the most popular and engaged competitions on the Hive blockchain! It's very good to see that we are also one of the most active and popular niche communities too, so thank you to everyone who takes part! YOU make the ecoTrain community what it is! So, this week we ask you the simple question of "What Prevents Action". As simple as it may seem, I wonder if the answer is so simple! There could be a hundred different reasons, but this week we ask you what you think is the most significant reason.

This question is one that requires some deeper thought. An answer that immediately springs to mind could be the age old excuse of TIME. We are all used to saying that we simply don't have time, but in todays environment im not so sure that this excuse works for me anymore. So many people are today sat at home all day, scrolling endlessly through social media, you tube videos and the like, that when i hear this reason what i really hear is actually priority. For some reason people put taking action lower down on their priority list than other things. SO the real question is WHY do people put taking action (in general) below other more seemingly mundane tasks such as watching videos.

Perhaps it is related to awareness. If people don't perceive a problem then they are not very likely to give it a high priority. Perhaps people don't know what to do! If you feel that you cant make a different then why would you bother trying? On the other hand, maybe some people are just scared! If you think that big brother is watching you and could somehow get you in trouble for taking action then fear alone could be responsible to preventing you from taking action. This is particularly the case for demonstrating, and today many demonstrations or protests are not even legal.

This week we ask you to write about this question either from your own personal perspective and reasons, OR if you prefer you can write about what you think prevents people from taking action. You can choose to speak about specific actions, such as those relating to climate change, or centralization... or you can write more generally about why you think the world overall seems to sit back and just watch the world unfold.

Sometimes i think people don't realize that this is YOUR world! We are made to feel very small, and very powerless, when in fact we are the one that hold the real power if we choose to take it.. and taking action is one of the most important ways to demonstrate the power that we have. So please everyone, you are all invited to join in and share with us what YOU think prevents action!
