After a long break, I finally found some time to watch something, and I decided to spend it on the series I've been most excited about in recent years, Squid Game. The reason I'm sharing this post in this community is because I was invited to a previous event by @yeouido.park. I was too busy to attend at the time, and I almost couldn't make it this time either, as today is the last day. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this event happen. Events like this on Hive are very important for community engagement.

I mentioned how excited I was to watch the first season of the series, but the second season was a disappointment for me, and my expectations for the third season were really low. The series failed to exceed my expectations. They tried to build excitement in the first few episodes, but in my opinion, the second and third seasons should have been released together as a single season. The most positive aspect of the third season was the games in the series. There were unexpected and interesting games, and surprising results. From here on, there will be minor spoilers, so I’m warning you in advance.
I mentioned that there was something I didn't like about the series in the second season, and I said I would explain it in the third season. This was the attempt to glorify and portray the transgender character in a positive light. I'm not a homophobic person, but in today's series, transgender individuals are always portrayed as angels of goodness, and I don't like that. In the third season, this angel of goodness continued her actions and sacrificed herself to protect a baby. Would you sacrifice yourself for a baby? Later, another angel of goodness, an elderly woman, killed her own son for the baby. I want you to try to empathize a bit. Would you kill your own son for someone else's baby? Or would you sacrifice yourself? I'm very undecided on this issue; I think I would decide based on how I felt at the moment, but right now, I feel like I would sacrifice myself.
As the number of people decreased in the later episodes, the groups became clearer, and people chose their sides. The scene where the baby's mother sacrificed herself was truly touching because she also knew she couldn't continue the competition. But no one expected the baby to take her number and continue the competition. This might be the biggest twist in the series for me. Everyone had a rough idea of what would happen until the final game, but unexpected things also occurred. For a moment, I thought the baby's father would sacrifice the baby. Because he didn't seem like a selfless person and had been thinking only of himself until the very end.
In the final game, Gi-Hun, the baby, and the baby's father remained. The baby's father asked Gi-Hun to give him the baby, and it was difficult to guess what was going through his mind at that moment. But Gi-Hun did not give up the baby and managed to get to the game area in the last second. A major fight broke out between the two, and it seemed like the one who survived would win the game—provided they sacrificed the baby. Who do you think won? To find out, you'll have to watch the show because I won't give away any more spoilers. At the end of the series, as you all saw, it was revealed that the series will continue in the new season, and this time the games will be played in America. I'm also very curious about the games that will be played in America.
Meanwhile, of course, the police officer couldn't uncover the island where the games were being played. The captain first misled him and then kept him occupied by killing the people around him. Even though he reached the island at the last moment, the front man caused the island to self-destruct once the games ended, and everything remained a secret.
As for my final thoughts and rating on the series, I think this season deserves a score of around 5.5 to 6 out of 10. There were very few surprises, everything happened as expected, and it failed to excite me as much as the first season did. Seasons 2 and 3 felt like an attempt to milk the popularity of something that was already popular. When the first season was so successful, Netflix and the producers must have been rubbing their hands with excitement. The first season of every successful series is the best. At least we know that the same lead characters won’t be in Season 4 because the series will be set in America.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it. Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments. See you in the next post and event!
