- Set clear boundaries: establish clear boundaries between your work and personal life. This means that I don't check email, whatsapp or messages on non-working days or days off. Not even on weekdays outside my working hours. I limit myself to the boundaries of my schedule because I have a life outside waiting for me.
- Communicate effectively: Open and honest communication with your superiors (who sometimes are not as superior as their name implies) and co-workers can be very helpful in reducing stress. Sometimes it is important to get things off your chest and say things with respect and clarity.
- Take care of your physical and mental health: Taking care of your physical and mental health is essential to managing stress. You have to sleep the right hours, eat without interrupting your lunch break for work. Use that time to really disconnect.
Remember: Job stress is a common problem, but it doesn't have to control you. By implementing the strategies mentioned above, you can learn to manage stress effectively and enjoy a healthier and happier work life.
And even though I apply all of the above, I DO experience work stress because within my schedule there are too many burdens on the people in charge of keeping everything running smoothly and effectively and they are totally incapable of providing up-to-date, effective and timely information. However, I can access and process information quickly and in a timely manner to solve any problem.
This alone causes a stress on me that is as if my shoulders are carrying a thousand kilos of stones and you know what that feels like? It's very heavy, very heavy and sometimes it hurts. I would honestly like to run away.
