You can change the container but it can be difficult at times to change the content. Even if you do make over and bleach your skin, it won't change your accent. I got so interested in a conversation last weekend with a brother in my church. Early last Saturday, I went to church for cleaning and because I was late people had picked the available sweeping brushes so, I had to use broom. The floor was tiled and most times we sweep with brushes because it is easier, faster and less stressful.
I had to manage the broom to sweep and that inflicted pain on my back but I continued. There was this one of our brothers at the entrance of the church, he stood and was paying attention to the way I was sweeping, I did as if I did not noticed and focused on what I was doing. Because the auditorium big it took some minutes to finished and as I got to where he was seated at the entrance he started talking. He appreciated what I was doing and made a statement that got me angry. He said sweeping with broom is the best, women are supposed to be sweeping with brooms and that we have just been sweeping with brushes because we wanted to copy the Americans. He suggested we go back to olden days and buy more brooms instead of brushes.
I was sweating already with what he said the sweating increased because I couldn't imagine a young man with village mentality. I explained to him why brush is more preferred to broom and the health benefit of it to women. Moreso, we have been using brushes to clean and there has not been any complain that the place was not well cleaned. Little did I know that I was wasting my time. He said there is nothing I could tell him that ladies of this age are lazy that is why they cannot bend to sweep, he looked at me and said he could predict that I will also be an advocate of washing clothes with machines. I affirmed what he said and he laughed loudly.
He said "My wife will never do that with me, she has to wash my clothes with her hands, pound my yam with mortar, sweep with broom and be traditional in everything. Immediately I felt sorry for who will marry the brother. I told him he needs a shift in mindset. Although he is living in Lagos and exposed to civilization, he is not better than people who are living in the village and are less advantage. I believe if many of them had opportunity of buying these innovative house gadgets, they will be glad. In a simple way, I told him to go to his village to get a wife for himself because Lagos ladies wouldn't satisfy him.
I got home and was reflecting on what happened, this is an important discovery that ladies should not ignore. Who is your man? What are his likes? What is his perspective to civilization? What does he want in a woman and many other things. Let his good accent, good look, money and fashion sense not deceive you. Ladies, don't be tired of asking questions and be wise in your decisions.
