Hace unos días me invadió la duda, tenía en mente algo y no sabía cómo hacerlo; muchas veces a los que nos consideran expertos también se nos pierde la inspiración; hay proyectos que aunque parecen fácil y se ven hermosos detrás de cada uno de ellos hay unan historia que contar. Hace unos días les conté de mi día tratando de elaborar una amapola y de cómo mi "Yo perfeccionista" quería sabotear el trabajo. Ese día no me sentía conforme y lo intenté una y otra vez hasta lograr algo hermoso; es aquí donde sobresalieron otras cualidades como la constancia y la paciencia salió en rescate de aquel día que gracias a Dios terminó muy bien.
¡Solo comienza!
Hoy me gustaría hablar un poco a esas personas que quieren iniciarse en la práctica de tejer; yo una vez también fui como tu ¡No sabía nada! a mis 38 años di mis primeros pasos en cada una de las cosas que hago, bordado, tejido, costura de bebé; fue en el año 2012 en que salí jubilada de manera anticipada y después de tantos años de haber soñado con una jubilación muy distinta que ahora me encontraba en el limbo. Siempre me gustaron las manualidades, hacer cosas en la máquina de coser, cortinas, manteles, pero eran solo cosas básicas que escasamente necesitaban una costura recta o zigzag.
Hay un dicho muy sabio que dice "nadie nace aprendido", pero Dios nos regala unos dones hermosos y solo debemos utilizarlos y sacarles provecho sabiamente. No les quiero mentir, no todo vendrá fácil y rápido, algunos aprendices se les dificultará al principio pero en cambio a otros se desanimaran en la primera puntada y ni hablemos de lo frustrante que puede ser ver esos proyectos tan bellos en revistas e internet y desanimarse al ver el tuyo, pero hay otro dicho que dice que "la practica hace la perfección" y de eso se trata el crochet, de ser insistente, practicar todos los días, iniciar con proyectos fáciles que te llevaran luego a proyectos que tu ni imaginabas algún día realizar y al ver cuánto haz alcanzado te hará muy sentir orgullosa y feliz.
¡Al principio!
Si deseas iniciar en el crochet no inicies con proyectos difíciles, esto te hará tomar práctica y ejercitar las manos para luego ir avanzando progresivamente.
- Fíjate en esta flor tan bella que hoy te presento, consta de solo dos puntos que se llaman cadena o cadeneta y punto alto. Tejemos 15 cadenetas, cerramos con punto deslizado para formar un aro y dentro de éste tejemos 28 puntos altos iniciando con 3 cadenetas que será nuestro punto alto inicial, cerramos con punto deslizado en la tercera cadeneta de inicio y rematamos con puntada de seguridad. Repetimos el mismo proceso hasta obtener 10 aros que vamos tejiendo uno metido dentro de otro como ves en la siguiente imagen.
- Todos los aros deben quedar en la misma dirección y cuando ya tenemos los aros listos vamos a ir enrollando sin apretar mucho para que luego se abran muy bien los pétalos. Pasamos unas puntadas con aguja e hilo y listo.
¡Hermosa! ¿verdad?
Este tipo de proyectos son muy fáciles y para una persona que vive en el mundo del crochet le puede tomar tan solo una hora elaborar algo así, en cambio para alguien que está iniciando es recomendable ir poco a poco, sin prisa, repitiendo una y otra vez hasta que tu mano se suelte y cada puntada te salga natural. Luego iras incluyendo puntadas que requieran más complejidad.
No te de pena ver o mostrar tus avances (así no se vea bien) ¡por el contrario! "consérvalos" porque esto te ayudará recordar cómo fueron tus inicios y te sentirás profundamente orgullosa por el camino que has transitado, recordaras con cariño a las personas que te guiaron, aquellos que te animaron y te hará muy feliz ver hasta dónde has sido capaz de llegar.
Busca inspiración
Desde nuestros primeros proyectos podemos desarrollar la creatividad e inspirarte con lo que otros ya han elaborado pero luego vas probando con tus propias ideas. Recuerdo que mis primeros trabajos fueron unos tapetes decorativos que ya estaban desgastados, traté de hacerlos lo mejor posible con materiales que tenía a la mano y aun los conservo con mucho cariño.
"Dar un paso más"
Siempre tenemos que dar un paso más, no te conformes con lo que has logrado hasta ahora, por el contrario, sigue avanzando, ponle mucho AMOR a cada cosa que inicies, si tienes que destejer y volver a empezar ¡Hazlo!
Si estas tejiendo para alguien especial piensa en ella, sueña con ese momento cuando le estés entregando lo que con tanto AMOR hiciste. Y ya para ir terminado te pido que valores tu trabajo y enseña a los demás a valorarlo. Si tú no lo haces, los demás tampoco lo harán.

Today I would like to speak a little to those people who want to get started in the practice of knitting; I once was also like you I knew nothing! at 38 years old I took my first steps in each of the things I do, embroidery, knitting, baby sewing; it was in the year 2012 when I came out of early retirement and after so many years of dreaming of a very different retirement I was now in limbo. I always loved crafts, making things on the sewing machine, curtains, tablecloths, but they were just basic things that barely needed a straight or zigzag seam.
There is a very wise saying that says "no one is born learned", but God gives us beautiful gifts and we just have to use them and take advantage of them wisely. I don't want to lie to you, not everything will come easy and fast, some apprentices will find it difficult at the beginning but others will get discouraged at the first stitch and let alone how frustrating it can be to see those beautiful projects in magazines and the internet and get discouraged when you see yours, But there is another saying that "practice makes perfect" and that's what crochet is all about, to be insistent, practice every day, start with easy projects that will lead you to projects that you never imagined you would do someday and seeing how much you have achieved will make you feel very proud and happy.
In the beginning!
If you want to start crocheting don't start with difficult projects, this will make you take practice and exercise your hands and then progressively advance.
- This beautiful flower that I present to you today, consists of only two stitches that are called chain or chain stitch and high stitch. We knit 15 chain stitches, close with slip stitch to form a ring and inside it we knit 28 high stitches starting with 3 chain stitches which will be our initial high stitch, close with slip stitch in the third starting chain stitch and finish with safety stitch. We repeat the same process until we get 10 rings that we knit one inside the other as you can see in the following image.
- All the hoops must be in the same direction and when we have the hoops ready we will go rolling without tightening too much so that later the petals open very well. We pass a few stitches with needle and thread and ready.
Beautiful, isn't it?
This type of projects are very easy and for a person who lives in the world of crochet can take only an hour to elaborate something like this, but for someone who is starting it is advisable to go slowly, without haste, repeating over and over again until your hand is loose and each stitch comes naturally. Then you will include stitches that require more complexity.
Don't be embarrassed to see or show your progress (even if it doesn't look good), on the contrary! "Keep them because this will help you remember how your beginnings were and you will feel deeply proud of the road you have traveled, you will fondly remember the people who guided you, those who encouraged you and it will make you very happy to see how far you have been able to go.
Look for inspiration
From our first projects we can develop creativity and get inspired by what others have already made, but then you try your own ideas. I remember that my first works were some decorative rugs that were already worn out, I tried to make them the best I could with materials I had on hand and I still keep them with much affection.

We always have to go one step further, do not settle for what you have achieved so far, on the contrary, keep moving forward, put a lot of LOVE in everything you start, if you have to unweave and start again, do it!
