La palabra es como una cápsula llena de ideas. Algunas más que otros.

Recuerdo haber leído un libro del filósofo y monje alemán Anselm Grün sobre el misticismo. Un texto hermoso y profundo; al final uno siente que habría algo más que añadir. Lo mismo ocurre esto con el tema de las virtudes. Habría mucho que decir sobre la humildad, la fe y la compasión, entre otras cosas. Me pregunto cuántas existencias necesitaría para hablar de amor, virtud y plenitud al mismo tiempo. Algunas palabras pueden transportar todo un universo, dadas las enormes posibilidades de los mundos y las vidas que ofrecen.

La dignidad no le pertenece a la muerte, tampoco a la vida. La dignidad es una conquista del espíritu por la forma en que ha vivido su existencia. Es una herencia innegable, un bagaje precioso e indeleble. Podemos cobrar una deuda financiera, pero nunca una deuda emocional ni, sobre todo, una deuda en relación con el tiempo. Cada uno de nosotros es responsable de las emociones que bailan en nuestro corazón; las buenas emociones no crean acreedores, y las malas emociones no crean deudores. El buen uso del tiempo empleado forma parte del arte de la existencia. Otro deber indelegable que habla de la dignidad.

Me enfrenté a una situación imprevista que es propia de todos nosotros.

Hay quienes lo entienden y quienes no. Sin embargo, el tiempo es un activo personal. Todos son responsables de la gestión de este activo. La constatación de que la estamos desperdiciando exigiendo a otras personas, a los acontecimientos y al destino, sólo la realizarán muchos cuando no quede ni un segundo. El tiempo siempre se puede aprovechar mejor, sobre todo cuando se utiliza para aprender del momento. Apenas tengo tiempo para un día. Del pasado, sólo lecciones, nunca privaciones.

La mayoría de la gente pierde la vida sin darse cuenta de que el ayer ya está acreditado por la muerte, ya no nos pertenece porque la propiedad ya ha sido transferida. Pero todavía hay algunos que se empeñan en dejar su corazón en el pasado, envueltos en un lamento ensordecedor sobre la vida y la muerte. Utiliza el tiempo como pago por algo de valor, un gesto o una elección que dé valor al espíritu. Algo para llevar contigo cuando la muerte te indique que es hora de irte. El propósito de mi viaje depende de la dignidad con la que trato el tiempo.

El tiempo es el instrumento de la muerte

Sin embargo, la muerte no es el enemigo de la vida, ni su contrario, sino un servidor fiel y eficaz. Pondrá fin a un ciclo de la existencia para que otro, con condiciones renovadas, pueda comenzar a continuar la vida, y aunque sea difícil de entender, no hay duda de que es un gesto de amor. Haz que el viaje valga el precio del billete; utiliza tu tiempo sabiamente para llegar a la estación en su totalidad. Para ello, no dependas de los hechos o de la condición de los demás. La belleza de la vida está en un lugar y en un momento: aquí y ahora.

Sean cuales sean las condiciones, el presente siempre tendrá una instrumentación adecuada según la realización de cada individuo. Sólo así podremos tratar el tiempo, y por tanto a nosotros mismos, con dignidad. Aunque el tiempo actúe como maestro del ser, la dignidad está presente en mi relación conmigo mismo y, sobre todo, en mi forma de relacionarme con el mundo. La ecuación original de la dignidad es bien conocida: "Trata a los demás como quieres que te traten a ti". Sencillez y sofisticación. Simple, porque sabemos cómo queremos que nos traten los demás; sofisticado, porque es difícil ceder a nuestro propio deseo.

No quiero que me den gato por liebre a cualquier precio. Prefiero tener la dignidad de alguien que se hunde en un abismo de soledad que llevar conmigo a alguien que no merece ni quiere venir conmigo. Cada uno a su propia comprensión de sí mismo y del mundo.

Hoy lo entiendo de otra manera, pero una vez que pensé como ellos, entonces los entendí

Durante mucho tiempo perdí mi propio tiempo sin darme cuenta, aferrándome a una piedra de gran precio. En la ilusión de seguridad imaginada, no percibí que el miedo al abismo me impedía volar. La vida no consiste en aferrarse a una roca, sino en encontrar la verdadera felicidad en los sutiles vuelos de la vida cotidiana. Las pérdidas financieras, por ejemplo, son insignificantes comparadas con las ganancias existenciales. La dignidad te da vuelo a cosas mucho más grandes y mas valiosas, deléitate con tu alma.

The word is like a capsule full of ideas. Some more than others.

I remember reading a book by the German philosopher and monk Anselm Grün on mysticism. A beautiful and profound text; at the end one feels that there would be something more to add. The same thing happens with the theme of virtues. There would be much to say about humility, faith and compassion, among other things. I wonder how many existences it would take to talk about love, virtue and wholeness at the same time. Some words can transport a whole universe, given the enormous possibilities of the worlds and lives they offer.

Dignity does not belong to death, nor to life. Dignity is a conquest of the spirit by the way it has lived its existence. It is an undeniable inheritance, a precious and indelible baggage. We can collect a financial debt, but never an emotional debt nor, above all, a debt in relation to time. Each of us is responsible for the emotions that dance in our hearts; good emotions do not create creditors, and bad emotions do not create debtors. The good use of the time spent is part of the art of existence. Another non-delegable duty that speaks of dignity.

I was faced with an unforeseen situation that is typical of all of us.

There are those who understand this and those who do not. However, time is a personal asset. Everyone is responsible for managing this asset. The realization that we are wasting it by making demands on other people, events and destiny, will only be realized by many when there is not a second left. Time can always be put to better use, especially when it is used to learn from the moment. I barely have time for a day. From the past, only lessons, never deprivation.

Most people lose their lives without realizing that yesterday is already credited by death, it no longer belongs to us because the property has already been transferred. But there are still some who insist on leaving their hearts in the past, wrapped in a deafening lament about life and death. Use the time as payment for something of value, a gesture or a choice that gives value to the spirit. Something to take with you when death tells you it's time to go. The purpose of my journey depends on the dignity with which I treat time.

Time is the instrument of death.

However, death is not the enemy of life, nor its opposite, but a faithful and effective servant. It will put an end to one cycle of existence so that another, with renewed conditions, can begin to continue life, and although it is difficult to understand, there is no doubt that it is a gesture of love. Make the journey worth the price of the ticket; use your time wisely to arrive at the station in its entirety. To do this, do not depend on the facts or the condition of others. The beauty of life is in one place and in one moment: here and now.

Whatever the conditions, the present will always have a suitable instrumentation according to the realization of each individual. Only in this way will we be able to treat time, and therefore ourselves, with dignity. Although time acts as the master of the self, dignity is present in my relationship with myself and, above all, in the way I relate to the world. The original equation of dignity is well known: "Treat others the way you want to be treated". Simplicity and sophistication. Simple, because we know how we want others to treat us; sophisticated, because it is difficult to give in to our own desire.

I don't want to be taken for a ride at any price. I prefer to have the dignity of someone who is sinking into an abyss of loneliness than to take with me someone who neither deserves nor wants to come with me. Each to his own understanding of himself and the world.

Today I understand it differently, but once I thought like them, then I understood them.

For a long time I wasted my own time without realizing it, clinging to a stone of great price. In the illusion of imagined security, I did not perceive that the fear of the abyss prevented me from flying. Life is not about clinging to a rock, but about finding true happiness in the subtle flights of everyday life. Financial losses, for example, are insignificant compared to existential gains. Dignity gives you flight to much greater and more valuable things, delight in your soul.
