Monster Focus

For this week's Social Media Challenge, I aim to introduce a battle strategy that might be familiar to most of you. This potent blend of monsters has enjoyed popularity in the past and continues to be a sought-after choice 👀
The appearance of QUORA TOWERSHEAD
in battle frequently instills apprehension in opponents due to its hybrid nature to deliver both Melee and Magic damage. Yet, with the inclusion of the SCARED LLAMA MAGE
, this synergy becomes exponentially lethal. When executed skillfully, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
can become virtually invulnerable 😜

The Battle
In my main account, ak08, I was able to engage in a battle that involves the lethal combination of SCARED LLAMA MAGE
and QUORA TOWERSHEAD
during a recent Guild Brawls. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.
Let's begin by analyzing the active ruleset. To start, we have the Heavy Hitters ruleset, which endows all monsters with the Knock Out ability. Following that, the Stampede ruleset comes into play, enabling the Trample ability to activate multiple times per attack if the trampled monster is eliminated. Lastly, there's the Ferocity ruleset, which bestows the Fury ability upon all monsters. With a mana cap set at 25, players are disallowed from employing the Life and Dragon Splinters.

As mentioned, this battle took place within a Guild Brawl, introducing supplementary constraints based on the particular fray you engaged in. In my case, I participated in a fray aligned with Silver League level caps ✌️

Summoner, Scarred Llama Mage
Upon encountering the ruleset that permits the Earth Splinter and imposes a reasonable mana range of 17-25, there's a specific strategy that immediately comes to my mind - one that involves employing the SCARRED LLAMA MAGE
as the Summoner. This Summoner possesses the capability to enhance the entire team with a +2 Health stat and would eliminate all debuffs on the friendly monster in the first position during each round. What's of utmost importance, however, is its ability to grant all monsters the Last Stand ability! 😏

First Position, Hill Giant
Having allocated the majority of the battle's mana to my core strategy, I'm left to optimize the remaining resources by choosing monsters capable of inflicting considerable damage on the enemy while also exhibiting the resilience to engage in combat. Hill Giant, with a mana cost of 3, presents a respectable Health value, rendering it suitable as our battle tanker. While its Melee attack and Speed aren't particularly remarkable, it should be capable of withstanding a few assaults from the opposing units 💪

Second Position, Uraeus
Uraeus, hailing from the Neutral Splinter, emerges as a versatile creature often encountered in Diamond and Champion League Ranked Battles. Nevertheless, its potency is curtailed in the Silver League due to the level 2 cap on Epic monsters, which consequently deprives it of the formidable Poison ability. Nonetheless, Uraeus remains a part of my chosen team due to its commendable overall statistics, even though its cost is a mere 3 mana 😤

Third Position, Fungus Flinger
Fungus Flinger consistently holds a prominent position in my lineup across different team compositions when using the Earth Splinter. While it may not offer substantial offensive or defensive capabilities, it excels in its designated role as a sacrificial unit, providing support to the primary performer in today's battle. By positioning Fungus Flinger strategically in front of the QUORA TOWERSHEAD
, I can effectively capitalize on its Martyr ability, thereby bestowing vital stat enhancements upon its demise 😅

Last Position, Quora Towershead
Standing as one of the rare monsters with hybrid proficiency, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
exhibits the capacity to administer both Melee and Magic damage. Enhanced by the Bloodlust ability when triggered, a unique hallmark of Gladius monsters, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
transforms into a formidable force. While it can't employ its Melee attack from the backline, the main intention is for QUORA TOWERSHEAD
to endure until the battle's end, thereby activating the Last Stand ability! 😝
The Analysis

Honestly, I didn't invest much contemplation into this battle and proceeded directly to formulating my lineup. This was quite unlike my usual approach, which involves strategizing and devising plans based on my opponent's potential choices. With the Heavy Hitters, Stampede, and Ferocity rulesets, it felt akin to a Standard ruleset battle for both me and my opponent. As a result, I reverted to my tried-and-tested strategy of deploying the lethal combo of SCARED LLAMA MAGE
and QUORA TOWERSHEAD
! 😁
Upon observing my opponent's lineup, bolstered by the Legendary Summoner: Valnamor, I swiftly recognized the challenge ahead. It struck me that I might have underestimated the battle's complexity by sticking solely to my preferred strategy. The opponent was able to maximize its Magic damage, leveraging Blast effects that swiftly dismantled my frontline. Moreover, Flagulon Reine's Bloodlust ability was triggered twice, as it was able to eliminate two of my units in a single strike! 😖

With my lineup decimated, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
made its appearance, invoking the Last Stand ability and undergoing an astounding surge in strength. Despite enduring substantial damage from the opposing forces, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
managed to persevere and promptly recuperate via the Heal ability. By systematically dispatching the enemy's units, it further augmented its attributes through the Bloodlust ability. Would you just take a glimpse of the remarkable statistics QUORA TOWERSHEAD
exhibited at the peak of the battle? In the end, QUORA TOWERSHEAD
emerged as the sole victor, singlehandedly securing my triumph! 😎
