Monster Focus
In this week's Social Media Challenge, I would like to shine the spotlight on a hidden gem from the Life Splinter: the STITCH LEECH
. Often overlooked in favor of other low-cost Sneaking Monsters like the Pelacor Bandit or the Uraeus, this Monster certainly warrants a second glance! 👀
One particularly intriguing feature of the STITCH LEECH
is its LIFE LEECH
ability, which we shall dive into further in the upcoming sections. Come along as I explore its array of abilities and reveal its true potential in battles. Get ready to be impressed by what this Monster can bring to your strategy! 😜

The Battle
While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the effectiveness of using the STITCH LEECH
and especially its LIFE LEECH
ability. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.
Now, let's take a look at the rules governing this battle. Firstly, there's the Broken Arrows ruleset, which restricts the use of Monsters with the Ranged attack. Secondly, the Odd Ones Out ruleset specifies that only Monsters with odd Mana costs are allowed in battles. Lastly, the Holy Protection ruleset bestows the Divine Shield ability upon all Monsters. The battle has a mana cap of 25 and excludes the use of the Water and Death Splinters.
Summoner, Grandmaster Rathe
Because of the Broken Arrows ruleset, we can anticipate that the attacks will be limited to Melee or Magic damage. Keeping this in consideration, I chose the Grandmaster Rathe for its beneficial buff abilities. The combination of +1 Armor and Void Armor abilities synergizes effectively, offering vital defense, especially when facing Magic attacks from the enemy's backline. The inclusion of Void Armor shields my lineup's Health from direct damage caused by Magic attacks, making it extremely advantageous in this battle! 💪
First Position, Blinding Reflector
The Blinding Reflector functions as a budget-friendly yet robust tank, particularly when combined with the Grandmaster Rathe Summoner, who provides the invaluable Void Armor and +1 Armor buffs. With a mana cost of 3, the Monster effectively boasts 12 (6+5+1) "Health" stats thanks to the Void Armor ability. Additionally, empowered by the Amplify ability bestowed by the Summoner, the Blinding Reflector can reflect any Magic damage it receives back to its attackers with an additional +1 Magic damage! 😁
Second Position, Chaos Agent
Securing its position in my lineup primarily for its cost efficiency at only 1 mana, Chaos Agent strategically occupies the second slot. This placement enables it to act as a potential tank, poised to take over when the Blinding Reflector in the first position is defeated. The synergy between its Dodge and Phase abilities significantly boosts its ability to dodge incoming enemy attacks, including Magic strikes. Furthermore, its Backfire ability further enhances its utility by inflicting 2 Melee damage on opponents who fail to land their attacks! 😆
Third Position, Scavo Hireling
The Scavo Hireling was chosen for its pivotal role as a support character for the entire lineup. Positioned in the third slot, it could also act as an additional tank if needed in the first position should others fall. Importantly, its Repair ability can replenish Armor stats for the friendly Monster that has suffered the most damage, which proves invaluable when combined with the Void Armor and +1 Armor buffs from the Grandmaster Rathe Summoner to the lineup! 😇
Fourth Position, Stitch Leech
Fifth Position, Uraeus
Moving on, I have a duo of Monsters serving as the primary attackers in my setup. They are renowned as low-cost yet effective Sneak Monsters commonly seen in battles with low mana requirements. One of them, the highlight of this discussion, is none other than the STITCH LEECH
, while the other Monster is the widely utilized Uraeus, known for its lethal Poison ability! ☠️
Last Position, Evelyn Auvera
In a battle with relatively low mana costs, players typically anticipate setting up their team with low mana Sneaking Monsters, as I did previously. By placing Evelyn Auvera in the final position, I ensure I have a backline tank capable of handling these pesky Sneak attacks while also retaliating with Thorns damage against these attackers! Additionally, Evelyn Auvera possesses the Immunity ability, safeguarding it from being poisoned by Monsters like the Uraeus! ✌️
The Analysis
Similar to my strategic approach, the opponent appears to prioritize defense over offense in this battle, and it's understandable, especially considering they have one of the game's greatest tanks - Almo Cambio! All my attacks were effectively directed towards the Almo Cambio as they employed the Lily Shieldpaw Summoner, which grants the Camouflage ability to their lineup! 😎
On the other hand, my lineup consists of three non-attacking Monsters: Chaos Agent, Scavo Hireling, and Evelyn Auvera. Even the Blinding Reflector isn't much of an attacker, as its primary role is to serve as a durable tank! 😅
The battle reached a stalemate as both lineups were well-equipped with proper supporting team members, aiding in the preservation of the tanks where the recovery support outweighed the damage inflicted.
As Round 20 approached, both teams began to suffer from fatigue. However, this is when my STITCH LEECH
truly stood out. Throughout the battle, my STITCH LEECH
accumulated an impressive 32 Health stats thanks to its LIFE LEECH
ability, allowing it to withstand the fatigue damage right until the very end. In the end, I emerged victorious, largely due to STITCH LEECH
being able to outlast the enemy's Monsters! 🤣
