Monster Focus

In this week's Social Media Challenge, I'd like to draw our attention to a relatively recent addition to the Life Splinter, introduced as part of the Soulbound Reward Cards collection: the WAR PEGASUS
👀
The WAR PEGASUS
is one of the potent Ranged units available in the Life Splinter. It not only boasts impressive offensive stats but also possesses the valuable Flying ability, akin to what you might find in Pelacor Arbalest. What particularly catches my eye is the SHATTER
ability, which I can deploy strategically when needed during battles 😜

The Battle
While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the impressive capabilities of using the WAR PEGASUS
, in particular the SHATTER
ability. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

Now, let's dive into the rulesets that shape this battle. It's an exceptionally straightforward contest, governed by a solitary ruleset - the Standard ruleset. This ruleset maintains the standard gameplay rules and mechanics without any modifications. The battle enforces a mana limit of 45 and disallows the use of the Fire and Water Splinters.

Summoner, Grandmaster Rathe
Aside from the Unprotected ruleset, the decision to include Grandmaster Rathe in your lineup has a profound impact on bolstering your team's overall durability during battles. His abilities, +1 Armor and Void Armor, complement each other seamlessly, offering a significant boost to your team's defensive capabilities. Additionally, I chose Grandmaster Rathe to implement a specific tactical approach in my gameplay while utilizing the Life Splinter 😏

First Position, Pelacor Conjurer
Pelacor Conjurer is a cost-effective tank in this battle. Despite its minimal mana cost of 2, it boasts remarkable Speed and Health attributes. Additionally, its skill set includes noteworthy abilities such as Magic Reflect, Phase, and Divine Shield, which collectively transform Pelacor Conjurer into a formidable adversary capable of withstanding various enemy monsters. Pelacor Conjurer's Magic Reflect, combined with Grandmaster Rathe's Amplify ability, enhances its effectiveness, especially against enemy Magic Monsters 😁

Second Position, Adelade Brightwing
Adelade Brightwing's Repair ability harmonizes perfectly with Grandmaster Rathe's +1 armor buff, creating a robust layer of defense that keeps my team resilient throughout the battle. Furthermore, she contributes to the team's agility by bestowing a +1 Speed buff through her Swiftness ability. Crucially, its Resurrect ability is vital for my strategy. I'm aiming for Iziar's revival, who possesses the Martyr ability, granting my lineup a double stat boost ✌️

Third Position, Time Mage
Time Mage is a cost-effective monster with a mana cost of just 4. It boasts impressive stats, including 3 Magic Attack, 5 Speed, and 4 Health. Its Slow debuff ability provides a vital speed advantage during battles, while its Rust ability is invaluable, stripping away 2 Armor stats from the enemy's team, essentially weakening their defenses and enhances my team's damage potential. It's a strategic and budget-friendly choice for any team composition whenever I uses the Life Splinter 😆

Fourth Position, Djinn Renova
Djinn Renova consistently finds its place in my lineup when I opt for the Life Splinter, primarily for its formidable Magic damage, as well as its commendable Health and Speed attributes. Its Triage ability, which facilitates healing for rear-positioned monsters, becomes particularly beneficial when executing my strategy of situating Iziar (refer to the Fifth position) at the backline. In this arrangement, Djinn Renova plays an instrumental role in maintaining my team's vitality and effectiveness throughout battles 💪

Fifth Position, Iziar
Iziar is the linchpin of my strategy, playing a crucial role in its success. To fully unleash its potential, it has to be at least Level 3, which I fortunately achieved by obtaining the Gold Foil version from an EOS reward chest, granting it the Martyr ability. With its Taunt capability, I can strategically place it between the monsters I want to empower when Iziar eventually falls. Its exceptional durability, thanks to both its high health and the Void ability, makes this card truly exceptional 😍

Last Position, War Pegasus
Introducing today's featured character, WAR PEGASUS
! As mentioned previously, it's unfortunate that I haven't reached Level 8 to unlock its full potential which would boast an additional ability, Demoralize. Nonetheless, this monster remains highly formidable. It possesses the Flying ability, granting it a significant +25% evasion chance against Melee or Ranged attacks from foes lacking the Flying attribute. Furthermore, it wields the SHATTER
ability, capable of completely destroying the target's armor with a single strike! 😵
The Analysis

In this Standard ruleset encounter, where a wide range of Splinters were at our disposal, I was taken by surprise when my opponent opted for the Life Splinter and employed the Grandmaster Rathe Summoner as well. Clearly, they had meticulously planned their team composition. Their lineup featured the stalwart Shieldbearer serving as a tank, equipped with the Taunt ability. From the backline, they had a multitude of support units with diverse abilities like Tank Heal, Protect (x2), Repair (x2), and Resurrect. My opponent's strategy centered on bolstering their defenses through Armor buffs from Truthspeaker and Silvershield Sheriff. Combined with Grandmaster Rathe's Void Armor ability, their team became nearly impervious to attacks 😤

However, little did my opponent anticipate facing a team specifically designed to counter their strategy with remarkable efficiency. It's safe to say luck wasn't on their side, as their strategy was typically one that leads to victory! The true hero of this battle was none other than the WAR PEGASUS
, with its game-changing SHATTER
ability, which obliterated all Armor on the target, paving the way for my triumph. The moments of complete decimation of the opponent's team were captured in the screenshots from Rounds 1 and 4. Words can hardly convey my elation over this victory, so I invite you to watch the battle yourself to truly savor the experience! 😊
