Summoner Focus
Greetings, fellow Splinterlands players! I'm excited to kick off a series on the Legendary Summoners shown below, as part of the ongoing Social Media Challenge.

Immortalis, Conqueror Jacek, and POSSIBILUS THE WISE
made their debut in the game relatively recently, and they have certainly shaken up the gameplay dynamics, opening up new strategic possibilities in battles.
If you're interested in learning more about these Summoners and how to effectively incorporate them into your own battles, be sure to follow along as I delve into each of them individually in the coming weeks 😜

In this discussion, our main focus will be on introducing POSSIBILUS THE WISE
from the Water Splinters. This Summoner requires 6 mana to be deployed in battle and offers notable advantages to your team right from the beginning. It provides a +2 Health boost to your team's monsters and grants them the formidable Trample and Reach abilities. 😍
According to Splintercards, there are only 23,445 copies of POSSIBILUS THE WISE
printed and they are currently trading at the below prices (at the time of writing) for both the Regular and Goil foil copies! 🤑

Rulesets and Abilities Focus
POSSIBILUS THE WISE
,particularly when confronted with the following rulesets.

POSSIBILUS THE WISE
is most commonly encountered in battles featuring theabove mentioned rulesets due to the abilities that the Summoner is able to attribute to the team.

The Reach ability is valuable in battles featuring the Up Close & Personal ruleset, which restricts the use of only Melee attack units. Melee units typically face the limitation of being unable to attack if not placed in the 1st position, unless equipped with abilities like Sneak and Opportunity. However, with the Reach ability attributed, Melee monsters can now effectively launch attacks from the 2nd position as well ✌️

On the other hand, the Trample ability aligns well with the Unprotected ruleset. This ruleset enables Melee monsters with the Trample ability to unleash an additional attack on the next enemy monster if they successfully eliminate their initial target. With the Unprotected ruleset in place, units possessing the Opportunity ability can strategically target and eliminate the weakest enemy monster, triggering the Trample ability to swiftly launch another attack and efficiently dismantle the opposing team 😤
The Battle
In my alt account, jimbei, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the effectiveness of using POSSIBILUS THE WISE
especially in a Up Close & Personal ruleset. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

Let's start by examining the rulesets implemented in this battle. The first rule is the Up Close & Personal ruleset, which we have thoroughly discussed. The second rule is the Taking Sides ruleset, which limits the inclusion of Neutral monsters in combat. Lastly, we have the Rise of the Commons ruleset, which restricts the usage of only Common and Rare monsters. The battle has a mana cap of 55 and excludes the Death Splinter from being used.

Summoner, POSSIBILUS THE WISE
Given the presence of the Up Close & Personal ruleset, it became clear to me that opting for POSSIBILUS THE WISE
was the most rational choice. With the limitation of using only units with Melee attacks in the battle, the Reach ability provided by POSSIBILUS THE WISE
becomes crucial as it enables another Melee monster to actively engage in the battle from the second position, rather than waiting in the backline for their turn ✌️

First Position, Diemonshark
Diemonshark proves to be an excellent choice as a tanker for the Water Splinter, especially given the rulesets in this battle. With a mana cost of 8, it offers well-balanced stats, including high Health, Speed, Armor, and Damage. One particularly advantageous ability, especially in the Up Close & Personal ruleset, is its Retaliate ability. This ability grants Diemonshark a chance to counter-attack when it is struck by a Melee attack, allowing it to retaliate against its attacker 😤

Second Position, Coastal Sentry
Despite its high mana cost of 10, this unit delivers devastating damage thanks to its Double Strike ability. Additionally, its Piercing ability allows it to bypass the target's Armor and inflict damage directly to their Health when the attack exceeds their Armor value. With the Reach ability bestowed by POSSIBILUS THE WISE
, Coastal Sentry now gains the capability to effectively attack from the second position as well 😉

Third Position, Deeplurker
Fourth Position, Flying Squid
These two Melee monsters from the Water Splinters require no further introduction, right? 😅 While the Flying Squid cannot directly participate in the backline attack, its Blind ability significantly raises the chances of enemy Melee and Ranged attacks missing their intended target. On the other hand, Deeplurker was chosen for its valuable -1 Melee debuff using the Demoralize ability, and it efficiently attacks from the backline thanks to the Opportunity ability, with the added bonus of inflicting Poison on the target! 👍

Fifth Position, Pelacor Bandit
Last Position, Cruel Sethropod
Pelacor Conjurer holds a special place among my favorite Water Splinter monsters. Despite its low mana cost of only 3, it boasts impressive Speed and Damage! Including it in my lineup is essential as it can deal Sneak damage to the opponent's backline 💪
During battles governed by the Up Close & Personal ruleset, the likelihood of encountering enemy monsters with the Sneak ability increases as players aim to maximize their damage output in each round. To address this, I strategically position Cruel Sethropod in the last position. Its high armor makes it an ideal meat shield for this scenario 😂
The Analysis

In this particular battle, both my opponent and I chose to utilize the Water Splinter despite the numerous options available (excluding the banned Death Splinter). This highlights the popularity of the Water Splinter among Splinterlands players and how formidable its Melee monsters can be in the Up Close & Personal ruleset 🤘
I must confess that I made an error in my lineup placement by positioning the Flying Squid in the fourth position instead of the third. Consequently, I was unable to capitalize on the Reach ability granted by POSSIBILUS THE WISE
, which would have allowed the Flying Squid to join the battle once the Diemonshark fell 😓
Fortunately, this mistake did not prove too costly since my Diemonshark managed to survive throughout the battle. The Trample ability, bestowed by POSSIBILUS THE WISE
, triggered multiple times during the battle and facilitated my team's swift elimination of the opponent. However, it is important to note that the primary reason for my overwhelming victory was that my opponent fielded an under-leveled team 😅
