@aussieninja
I've said before that I love pixel art and so this Frigid Wolf by @durlan really just ticks all my artistic funness checklist. Pixel art animation is not easy and the smoothness of this is just so good!
Hi everyone!
Maybe last season was a bit of a fluke because I was absolutely nowhere near reaching Champs I in Modern this time round. Last season I got a rating of 4600 and my highest this season was 4120.
Conclave Arcana Conflict have started in earnest... and @beelzael was kind enough to point out I was sitting on 13.99 guaranteed cards, so I made another couple of purchases to get myself 14 for this round...
As I wrote about last season, I was so curious about where the CP (Contribution Points) would sit in comparison to Rebellion. I think I had about 800K/900K CP points for Rebellion and sat around the 27th spot...
For Conclave Arcana I have 50% more CP and I'm 30 spots lower... I have a regular foil maxed collection, plus all gold foil epic cards and 3 black foil and I'm way lower. I think we can confidently say that the demand for the Arcane cards has been super successful. Well done Splinterlands team.
We are halfway through the first Conclave Arcana and I'm able to repair 7 Mage Wagons so far...
... but obviously I had resources before the conflicts started... so the second conflict will provide a much more accurate picture on how well my land plots can replenish the Mage Wagons that'll break. I'll definitely need 14, probably another 8 or so more.
I'm overproducing Aura at the moment (which I can't swap for Wood or Iron) but I have been making spare Auction Marks and Fortune Tickets for the Pickle Arcane cards. I'm really glad Aura is required for both of these, because the market for Midnight Potions has way too much supply:
So again, well done on the team for working out these systems to really eat up Land resources. I haven't contributed to the Grain or Stone LPs in ages, but I seem to be getting some decent fees on what I had added in... so demand is obviously pretty high because of the Mage Wagons.
I'm genuinely pleased that my Land Plots have an impact on my game. I have to imagine the demand for Wagon Kits is just going to be massive, especially around the 8th and 9th conflict.
I'm not worried in the short-term personally though, because I'm terrible at math and purchased way too many Mage Wagons during the Conclave Arcana Presale. I spent 42,000 DEC on 42 Mage Wagons. I only really needed 82 spots for CA but somehow thought I needed 210 spots...
... so I currently have 28 Wagons I'm not even using... so I should be okay for the first few conflicts. I really do think the total contribution will drop as people start to be a lot more choosey about how many wagons are willing to purchase each time.
My accidental math mistake may have initially backfired on me though, I essentially purchased each wagon for $8.8 USD (10K DEC each) but they're currently $6.10 in the second-hand market:
... I'm so confident that'll change though as demand ramps up.
How much does it cost to craft a Mage Wagon?
Using the Trade Hub:
40,000 Wood costs 1,617.814 DEC
10,000 Stone costs 1,217.743 DEC
4,000 Iron costs 1,429.155 DEC
Aura can't be purchased nor broken down from Midnight Potions, you can only farm it.
Total = 4,317 DEC ~ $3.82 USD... so people selling Wagon Kits are making about 50% profit assuming they have an abundance of Aura. I love how complex this all is.
This is my land production:
Land on the second hand market seems pretty cheap - there's a lot of plots available for under $20USD. I'm not looking to buy any personally.
I personally haven't found a lot of enthusiasm for the Frontier mode, which is totally fine, I don't think I'm the target audience. I'm likely to never want to use those cards in Modern or Wild... but I'm glad it all exists for new people.

Last Season was flipped in my playing time for Modern and Wild...
That Win/Loss Ratio for Modern was insane... this season was way more normal.
My thought process was that spending more time in Modern would get me more Glint... which was NOT the case... I got an almost identical amount.... 408154 Glint vs 404573 Glint. Very interesting.

I'm still intending to hoard Glint for the Conclave Arcana Reward cards, which is not quite as opening chests, but I'm excited for whenever those cards are released.

I didn't remember that July 31st was the date that Liquidity Rewards were scheduled to stop, so that explains why I've still being getting some LP SPS. I won't move anything around just yet... I'll see if I truly get 0 SPS in the next season. I don't have a lot in the LPs, but I can just stake the SPS portion and use the DEC portion on wagons or whatever.

I've been way more thought about conflicts than actual strategy in the game... but I'm still enjoying bouncing around Modern, and to a lesser extend Wild. I do need to spend some time figuring out the best builds because I do feel like I'm probably losing more than I need to be.
I hope you're having fun in the game still!
Thanks for reading!
