Heya Splinterlanders :)

It is already 3rd edition of that tournament, and if Im not mistaken, all the editions got the same rules. Firstly the cost is practically free :), secondly KYC is required, so no multi-account allowed. The format is another interesting thing, it's novice wild league without legendaries summoners with just 1:20 time for choosing the team, so on paper giving fairer chances to everyone :). The last, but maybe the most important is prize structure, as you can see almost everyone is the winner there :) (which isn't the best thing IMO), but for higher prizes you just need to be in top 8.
Here are the final results:
My performance was just terrible there :). I am not very familiar with novice format, which is very specific. I think you can see what I mean in some battle's example below. It's even more important to get those very strong single legendary cards, which usually are just unbeatable in some fights. Maybe next time I try to rent some of them to give myself better chance to compete. Overall I still had a lot of fun with something different than the regular tournaments, that we got for last 2 years.
As you can see above, among top 7 players most of them are quite known names (for lower league tournament at least :) ). Congratulation to Nitroage for another champion place :)

Of course I will present some battles from that tournaments, I haven't face any of top players in the first round, but still I couldn't get the score to reach second round. The battles was quite interesting, and of course not knowing the format and meta was a major factor to lose a lot :).
First battle :
Opponent have here quite regular setup with Mylor and Unicorn Mustang in the front. It's not easy to find good counter to it, and additionally Ketralba and quite lucky sniper made that fight very difficult to win. My team had some powerful damage dealers, but I made some significant mistake with order. Maybe with flying units at the end of my line-up I would have more chances. Overall the fight was still quite close, but it's not easy to beat Ketralba after few bloodlust buff.
Second battle :
Here we got perfect examples how the strong cards could dominate whole fight. Nice mix of magic and range damage with additional boost from summoner was just too strong for my team of range units. Additionaly usually life range unit from last sets are quite slow, so after the fist round we lost a lot of potential damage, and the battle was ended in the second round, even before my units could react :(
Third battle :
Of course I didn't lose all the fights, so here we got an example where we got more luck. :). After I saw rulesets, of course first idea was death team with magic damage. For novice league usually it's not easy to get units with higher magic damage than one, so I wasnt afraid to get any counter here. Opponent had quite chaotic team with different type of damage and targeting, but still with stun and heavy hitters ruleset everything could happen. Our Dark Ha'on was killed quite fast with double damage, but we got some luck as well and our damage was doubled for 2 turn as well. It was enough to wipe out whole enemy team quite fast.

I really like any of different initiative to give more diversity for the game, which was quite stagnant for a while. I think I read something about new Open Ghost Card Tournament in near future, but I still cannot see it available. That is/was something I really enjoyed, and I cannot figure out why it's so seldom.
Where we can see anything new for tournament scene ? Any guesses ?I hope you like this kind of battle and strategy presentation. More strategy analysis, discussion, and prediction games you can find on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. You can check the schedule here
