As I went to combine fragments for Totems, I was pleasantly surprised by just how much I had accumulated. Nearly one combined of each Totem tier, save for Legendary, was within reach! It was a moment of clarity that reminded me that progress, even when it feels slow, is happening steadily in the background.

I’ve been deeply invested in land since its launch, committing significant resources to ensure my plots have the best chance for future success. Despite my pause over the last couple of months—largely due to the stagnation in both the ecosystem and economy—this realization about my Totem collection felt like a tangible reward for those early efforts.
Totems, as we know, are integral to maximizing land productivity, and having a solid collection gives me an edge in advancing my land's output in the short term. While Legendary Totems remain elusive, having nearly every other tier ready to craft means I’m well-prepared to optimize my land when the time comes.
The Challenges of Land Development
It’s no secret that the slow pace of land development has been a source of disappointment for many in the community, myself included. The stagnation has made it difficult to stay motivated, and enthusiasm for the land economy has waned. However, it does seem like we’re beginning to turn a corner.
Although we’re far from where we need to be, seeing signs of life in the ecosystem—along with personal milestones like my Totem progress—helps reignite a bit of optimism. Still, much has to happen for excitement to fully return to the land side of the economy.

Looking forward, I see a significant crossroads in my Splinterlands journey. With DEC resources needing careful allocation, I’ll soon have to make tough decisions about where to focus my attention. Should I double down on land development, or pivot to other opportunities within the game’s evolving economy?
These choices aren’t always enjoyable, but progress doesn’t stop for anyone. One thing is certain: having the right tools and resources, like Totems, will make a meaningful difference in the long run.
While the road to land development has been anything but smooth, moments like this remind me that the effort has not been in vain. My Totem progress is a testament to the power of patience and persistence. As we move forward, I’ll be watching the land ecosystem closely, balancing caution with optimism for what’s to come.
Here’s to continued growth, progress, and the hope that the land economy will soon reach its full potential. For now, I’ll focus on preparing my plots for the future—and who knows, maybe that Legendary Totem isn’t as far away as it seems.
