Healers are one of the greatest asset in the game. Their ability to gain back the portion of life of their teammate makes the battle more interesting and exciting because you will never know when the supported monster will be kill. Aside from that, their contribution to the offense should be applauded due to the fact that it takes a big part on the damage.
For this week, a Healer is the star of the game and here are the limitations set in the game.
MANA CAP
In Splinterlands, every battle has rules needed to be follow. Since I am in Bronze III, the battle has NO STANDRAD. Meaning, I am free to use any cards and element as long as the total mana of the cards that I am going to pick fits to the required mana cap. The mana cap for this battle is 19 mana cap. For 19 mana cap, the technique here is to pick monsters with high speed and high battle damage.
My STRATEGY for this battle is to pick a summoner that will increase my offense and choose monsters with magic attacks and has high speed. I come up to this kind of strategy because I notice that on the previous battles of my opponent, he/she always use water monsters. As we all know, water unit are the master of speed so if we use melee and range attack, there is high probability that my attacks will miss. But if I use magic attacks, the probability of missing an attack will be eliminated due to the fact that magic attacks never miss and cannot be resist by shields, unless there is an ability that provoke magic attack.
THE CARDS LINE UP
Choosing the right and perfect position for your cards should be determine very well because most of the time, the key to win a battle is just in a card positioning.
![]() | - an additional magic attacks for all your monsters in field. | I choose this card as Summoner to make sure that my attacks will be maximize. |
![]() | - FLYING. Has increase chance of evading attacks for monsters who do not have flying ability. | I place this monster in the First Position because it can resist and avoid melee and range attacks. |
![]() | - DISPEL. Monsters with this kind of ability clears all the positive effects on the enemy it hits by its attack. | I place this monster in the Second Position because it can support the tank on every attack. Also, this monster will serve as a substitute tank if ever the first tank cannot handle the damages. |
![]() | - TANK HEAL. Monsters with this kind of ability restores a portion of life of the tank. | I place this monster in the last position so that it will heal all the monsters before it. By this, its ability will be maximize. |
THE FIGHT
The battle started as the two summoners let their effects take over in the battle. My monsters got an increase to their magic attacks but the summoner of the enemy negates it, leaving that beginning of the battle no increase on magic attackers. The opponent also got 2 shields, increasing the defensive state of the monsters of my opponent.
At the start of round 1, Regal Peryton attacks first since it has the highest speed in the battle. The following monsters that attacks are the monsters of my opponent. That makes me worry on my first position monster. Luckily, Goblin Psychic is to the rescue, restoring a portion of the life of my monster while giving damage as well to my opponent. At the end of the round, no monster got eliminated, but almost everyone already takes damage.
In round 2, still, Regal Peryton attacks first followed by the monsters of my opponent. Venari Spellsmith attacks and kills the tank of my opponent. River Nymph attacks after it and that eliminates Regal Peryton in the game. Goblin Psychic also attacks and that causes the elimination of one of the monsters of my opponent. At the end of round 2, it becomes 2 versus 3.
In round 3, I started to become so nervous because of the current state of my team. Venari Spellsmith continues to create damage towards the opponent. It fails to stay longer on its position because of its low life. Now that that Goblin Psychic is in the first position, it is more vulnerable now but thanks to its healing ability, its life is always restored. At the end of round 3, it eliminates another monster in the field.
In round 4, the healing ability of Goblin Psychic becomes so evident that it is very important. Everytime the two monsters attack, Goblin Psychic restores its health over and over again until a the end of the round.
In round 5, the restoration of health continues and that becomes the downfall of my opponent because everytime they attack, the health was restored and everytime I attack it creates damage to them. With that, Venari Wavesmith was eliminated in the game.
In round 6, it is 1 versus 1. Ice Pixie tries to attack but the damage was always restored. Ice Pixie fails to resist the magic attack of my monster and that becomes the ending of the battle. That leaves the Goblin Psychic the only card left in the field.
Goblin Psychic clearly gives its very best in the battle and that is the reason why the battle becomes so successful
CONCLUSION
Overall, my strategy did not fully works. In the first part of this blog, I mentioned that my strategy is pick a summoner that will increase my offense and choose monsters with magic attacks and has high speed. Clearly, the summoner part did not work and the speed tactic did not fully works since the opponent chose magic attackers as well. The only thing that works is the magic attacks. It clearly creates damage towards the opponent.
The battle is intense and exciting. If I am going to use again the Goblin Psychic on a higher mana cap,I would definitely position another monster after it in order to protect it tomonster with Sneak ability. On this battle, I just got lucky because my opponent did not choose monsters with Sneak ability. If that happens, then I will not have any chance of winning the battle.
