Retention was a problem with Splinterlands, and I think it is also a problem with things like posting. Alerts help interactions happen a lot more. I sort of identified this trend in my latest post looking at some data split by application.
Things like "if the author used peakd" tended to see them have higher engagement (comments and replies) - compared to those that published with hiveblog where the notifications system isn't as robust.
It is an imperfect hypothesis, and sure, we don't have page views and all that sort of stuff on chain, but I like to think we have some reason for people to come here, and then to stay here.
