Life provides us with straightforward but powerful realities that we resist accepting. These are no great philosophical notions or earth-reversing discoveries - they're common sense principles too many dismiss as being too simplistic to be relevant. Yet these principles have the power to totally transform our lives when employed habitually.
Your talents are your birthright entrepreneurial startup capital. Not cultivating these natural gifts is essentially wasting free startup capital. Amassing money is an art that requires learning and experience. Although a higher education is essential, not every person will become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, accountant, dentist, bricklayer, surveyor, or teacher. But every person has something others can't do without. Your unique abilities are to enrich people and businesses, and when you do this, profit will naturally follow.
Rejection is always a permanent traveling companion along the path to success. It leads many to abandon their dreams prematurely because of rejection. Becoming thick-skinned is required by success since rejection can come at any moment. A person gets rejected every minute, yet no one is deterred from pursuing their dreams for it. Actual failure is not getting rejected - it's not giving it your best. When you are rejected, it only signifies that you have not yet reached the right target. The secret is to move ahead and develop your inner resources for the next opportunity.
People's opinions should never end your life story. Your present condition is merely a stopover, not your destination. Even though listening to feedback is worth it, never allow others to control the direction of your life. What you want most is not where you are right now, but in what direction you're headed. Being responsible for your own life is the key to making it worth living. Excuses are the hallmark of both laziness and failure. Be humble enough to listen to others, but keep your mind set on your dreams and aspirations. Show the skeptics what they think you can't do by doing it and succeeding.
Pleasing everyone is just not possible. Even the sun doesn't shine every minute. While it is good to do your best for others, attempting to please everybody at the cost of your own happiness gets you nowhere good. The Bible teaches that a merry heart maketh a cheerful face, while sorrow doth break the spirit. Scientific research concurs that happiness leads to good health, but attempting to please everybody usually leads to depression and frustration. Learn to accept that some individuals will never be content, regardless of how much you gave. range 30-40
Starting on your own is not something to be afraid of. Job security usually leads to stagnation. People remain in 9-to-5 jobs looking forward to retirement benefits, then find these benefits are not what they appear. Holding a job for loyalty or fear, but it will never make your dreams come true, limits your potential. Consider why your parents did spend money on education - not to work for someone else's company for all eternity. According to Scripture, them that work in the earth shall have in abundance. The intelligent ones hoe their own rows.
These five principles are practicality in the real world gained through experience. Success begins by accepting these facts and acting on them each time. Your path to success begins by developing your talents, living with fear of rejection, trusting your own judgment, realizing that you cannot please all people, and having courage to chart your own course. The moment to apply these principles is now.
