Hello gamers! What are you doing on this beautiful day of summer? Any time left for gaming? ๐
Lately, I've been more interested in creating offline memories rather than online ones, but happily that won't keep me away from writing my articles here as well as remember about some of my gaming experiences and share them with you.
Even though the pick from today's post doesn't need too much introduction since is, perhaps, amongst some of the games everyone heard about no matter if we talk about boy or girl gamers, I'd still like to say that the whole attention will be focused on The Sims 4.
I think we can all agree that there are games which are more interesting for girls instead of boys and vice versa, but there are also games which are played equally by both sides and which not only that it turns out as a big win for the developers but also for the evolution of the gaming industry.
Anyway, just as its name says, having "4" next to "The Sims" means that we can easily talk about a series which released its first piece at the end of 2002. Since it enjoyed a great success, the passage of years brought more updated versions of the game as well as new activities to enjoy in the newer releases.
The evolution of the graphics is perhaps the first most noticeable one and you can see that down below:
While everything started quite weird with the possibility of reproducing your own family and control the life of the members you were designing, slowly the whole franchise became the most successful PC game ever with over 175 million of copies sold in the whole world.
Personally, I was way too young when the first game was released but I remember starting my gaming experience with The Sims 2 and then never miss a chance to try out the other releases being curious what new features have been added.
Since the main genre of the series is simulation, you can expect literally anything from the character customization which includes not only just picking the clothes to wear but also the hair, the size of the iris, tattoos, zodiac signs and many more that will create a unique character with different behaviour than the rest.
I always loved customizing characters and perhaps there are many people out there sharing my passion, but you must know that this is not where the whole fun ends because as soon as you finish creating your characters, you can make connections between them like being relatives or simply interested in meeting more one of the other characters and create a relationship.
After you finish the part with characters, is time to make a big decision whether you want to live in an existing house or build your own which can be done from skretch including floor, walls, stairs, and so on.
If you are not used to play with cheats, then building your own house might take a while since you first need to find jobs for all sims and wait a while until they will earn enough money to invest into a house, but there are also some hacks that could help you take an advantage if you use them because they will give you infinite money that would save you from many hours of gaming.
When I was playing these games, owning hacks was a rare thing but my biggest surprise came when I googled these codes and I noticed they were actually written down on the official website of EA games which is the main platform that shelters the franchise. You can find these HERE.
Being a simulation game that was created with an incredible attention to details, you must be aware that you are the single one responsible for everything that happens with your characters, including whom you feed, whom you send to the gym or work, whom you send to sleep, what tasks everyone has, and even who you make a baby with, lol.
The more you play the game, the more you will realize how different human beings are, the characters having a fight or changing their mood as we often do, which can lead to more or less consequences because no one is immortal. So while you can see the characters growing up and getting older, as possible is to see them die at one point.
Anyway, as you might know already, it's been a long while since the last game of the series was released happening in 2014, so if you wondered what the developers of the game did in all this time or if they abandoned the franchise already, the answer is nope.
Just like as it happens with any successful game and especially with the simulator ones where you have more paths to explore and things to add to the game, there have been released dozens of expansion packs which bring everything from new jobs to pets, new characters, costumes and what not.
I've always considered myself a big fan of the series but I'd never see myself buying all of these, especially that the whole amount is close to 600โฌ and you can have tens of other games in that money. I'm not judging those who are investing in the expansion packs because we all know that they will get a real gem stored in their library with all these additional bundles that will make the game a lot different from others' experiences, but I still feel like it's a little bit too much and that many of them could be included in a 5th game of the franchise.
Talking about The Sims 5, find out that this is not an impossible thing since there were quite a few announcements made in 2020 making the fans of the franchise expect a new game released at the beginning of 2022. However, as we all might notice there is no Sims 5 just yet, so all we can do is wait because I'm sure there's not much left until the series will become a new addiction to the newer generations which haven't explored the franchise already.
It's not a surprise anymore that the gaming industry evolved a lot, especially in terms of graphics, so better graphics are definitely not going to be missing from the 5th game of the series. There are also rumours about including the online feature which means you will be able to visit your friend's creations for the very first time and perhaps have activities together! How cool is that?
Conclusions ๐ค
I won't say whether the game is worth being played or not in 2022 as it's all up to anyone how he/she wants to spend their time, but I do feel like this game is amongst the best gateways someone can have especially that living is not an easy thing but luckily there is this series that can make you experience how perfect life would look like.
The attention to details is incredible, from the very start of the character creation to the end of your journey in the game, but there are still things that are missing and could be included either in the DLCs or The Sims 5 that everyone is looking forward to.
Although there are dozens of expansion packs, there are also lots of complaints that some of these are full of bugs and way too expensive, so let's hope that the developers won't start to focus on how to get richer than they currently are instead of creating a game with passion as their got us used with.
Did you play it? ๐
I know this might come with plenty of answers of YES! but I'm still curious to see what your gaming experience was or if there are any hivers interested in trying this one out.
In case you haven't played the franchise yet, keep in mind that the whole series can be enjoyed on platforms like PC, Mac, Xbox and Playstation but also on phone. Oh, and let's not forget that this is currently on sale on Steam and you can enjoy it on a 75% discount price!
