Games where you have to go through dungeons or well known as roguelikes are becoming more and more popular. This is a genre that has been capturing the attention of many players, games like diablo or Hades, have achieved a lot of success within the genre.

I accidentally stumbled upon Curse of the Dead Gods, and with that name, it has captured all my attention and sometimes I get caught up in the cover or the name of a game and I end up getting a lot of crap. Luckily, this was not the case with Curse of the Dead Gods, a game that has captured my attention from the first minutes and I couldn't wait to write about it.
Accidentalmente me he topado con Curse of the Dead Gods, y con ese nombre, ha captado toda mi atención y es que a veces me dejo llevar por la portada o el nombre de un juego y termino adquiriendo tremendas cagadas. Por suerte, este no fue el caso con Curse of the Dead Gods, un juego que ha captado mi atención desde los primeros minutos y no podía esperar a escribir sobre el juego.
Curse of the Dead Gods is a multiplatform game that tries to immerse us in a world dominated by darkness. From the beginning, we will see how the main character gets trapped in a sort of tomb and must make his way through the dungeons to get out alive or end up cursed in the process.
Curse of the Dead Gods es un juego multiplataformas, que busca sumergirnos en un mundo dominado por la oscuridad. Desde sus inicios, veremos como el protagonista queda atrapado en una especie de tumba y deberá abrirse paso entre las mazmorras, para lograr salir con vida o terminar maldito en el intento.
At first look, Curse of the Dead Gods seems to be a very simple game, but it turns out that it will test all the agility you have with your hands, whether you use a gamepad or the keyboard. The game's main character is capable of dodging attacks, blocking and using 4 buttons to strike. In total, we must be able to use 6 buttons to fight, while moving in each area.
A simple vista, Curse of the Dead Gods parece un juego muy sencillo, pero resulta que pondrá a prueba toda la agilidad que tengas con tus manos, bien sea que uses un mando o el teclado. El protagonista del juego es capaz de esquivar ataques, bloquea y utilizar 4 botones para dar golpes. En total, deberemos ser capaz de utilizar 6 botones para luchar, mientras nos movemos en cada área.
This without leaving aside that we must have good reflexes and one aspect that make this game stand out from the others: never allow the torch to go out. It turns out that all areas are dark and we must light our way with a torch, but if you have the torch on, you can not attack enemies unless you save it and take out any of your weapons, but we must be careful when saving the torch, the character is more vulnerable to damage and we will not be able to see the enemy traps.
Esto sin dejar de lado que debemos tener buenos reflejo y un aspecto que hacen sobresalir a este juego de los demás: nunca permitir que se apague la antorcha. Resulta que todas las áreas están oscuras y debemos iluminar nuestro camino con una antorcha, pero si tienes la antorcha puesta, no puedes atacar a los enemigos a menos que la guardes y saques cualquier de tus armas, pero hay que tener cuidado al momento de guardar la antorcha, el personaje es mas vulnerable al daño y no seremos capaces de ver las trampas enemigas.
I had to learn this by bad experience, when I realized that the enemies were taking more life points from me. We will have to look for a torch on the map to light it and thus illuminate everything or set fire to an enemy and attack the rest. This is something that I particularly liked, we will not only go between the dungeons giving blows as if it were a hack and slash, we must be strategic when fighting.
Me toco aprender esto por mala experiencia, al darme cuenta que los enemigos me quitaban mas puntos de vida. Deberemos buscar alguna antorcha en el mapa para prenderla y así iluminar todo o prenderle fuego a un enemigo y atacar al resto. Esto es algo que particularmente me ha gustado, no solo iremos entre las mazmorras dando golpes como si se tratase de un hack and slash, deberemos ser estratégicos a la hora de luchar.
I know that describing this sounds like it's a bit complicated, but really with one button you pull out the torch and when you touch any button where you have any of the 3 weapons assigned to you, the torch is automatically stored and you pull out the weapon to attack. It's a pretty fast action and we don't have to worry about that, just to keep the light on, no matter what.
Ahora, se que el describir esto suena como que es algo complicado, pero realmente con un botón sacas la antorcha y al tocar algún botón donde tienes asignada cualquier de las 3 armas, la antorcha se guarda automáticamente y saca el arma para atacar. Es una acción bastante rápida y no debemos preocuparnos por eso, solo de mantener luz encendida, sea como sea.
Another aspect that I liked about the game is the curses. It turns out that as we advance through each of the areas, and then I'll tell you about how the maps are, we can be affected by a curse that accumulates in an indicator bar at the bottom of the screen. When the bar is completed, it fills up with curse marks and these curses affect our character in a random way, both positive and negative, such as consuming his life points every second.
Otro de los aspectos que me ha gustado del juego son las maldiciones. Resulta que a medida que avanzamos por cada una de las áreas, y luego te cuento sobre como son los mapas, podremos vernos afectados una maldición que se va acumulando en una barra indicadora en la parte inferior de la pantalla. Al completarse la barra, se va llenando marcas de maldición y estas maldiciones afectan de forma aleatoria, tanto positiva como negativa, a nuestro personaje, como el que se le vaya consumiendo los puntos de vida cada segundo.
Some actions we do in the game, such as restoring life points, can cause the curse bar to fill up. This complicates things a bit and we will have to be wise before doing any action. By the way, our beloved protagonist can only do a limited number of actions, once the actions are exhausted, we will have to let each dot recover just above the character to attack, dodge or use the torch again.
Algunas acciones que hacemos en el juego, como restaurar los puntos de vida, pueden hacer que la barra de maldición se vaya llenando. Esto complica un poco las cosas y deberemos ser sabios antes de hacer alguna acción. Que, por cierto, nuestro querido protagonista solo puede hacer un numero limitados de acciones, una vez agotada las acciones, deberemos dejar que se recupere cada puntito justo arriba del personaje para volver a atacar, esquivar o utilizar la antorcha.
As for the maps, we will not wander as in other dungeon games. We will see a map and we will be able to select the path if we want to go for money, artifacts, weapons, skill upgrades, and so on. We will be able to see the entire map, or at least the route to each reward and thus, from the beginning, be able to select the routes we need the most.
En cuanto a los mapas, no iremos a la deriva como sucede en otros juegos de mazmorras. Veremos un mapa y podremos seleccionar el camino si queremos ir por dinero, artefactos, armas, mejoras de habilidades, etc. Seremos capaces de ver todo el mapa completo, o por lo menos la ruta hacia cada recompensa y así, desde el inicio, poder seleccionar las rutas que más necesitemos.
Curse of the Dead Gods also has touches of RPG, where it is necessary to improve or obtain certain objects and weapons to be able to face the difficulties. The path we select can give us an advantage in our second attempt, if we manage to obtain what we need to improve our character. We will be able to obtain long or short range weapons, heavy or ranged weapons.

El camino que seleccionemos, nos podrá dar una ventaja en nuestro segundo intento, si logramos obtener lo necesario para mejorar a nuestro personaje. Podremos obtener armas de largo o corto alcance, amas pesadas o de ataque a distancia.
Enemies of all kinds, who will attack you from a distance with magic that curses you or will try to hit you with unstoppable attacks. As far as I could advance, I found a good variety of enemies and some that were out of the ordinary, including bosses. Undoubtedly, there is still a lot to explore and discover what dark forces remain inside this cursed temple.
Enemigos de todo tipo, que te atacaran a distancia con magia que te maldice o te buscaran golpear con ataques imparables. Hasta donde pude avanzar, me encontré con una buena variedad de enemigos y algunos que salían de lo común, inclusive jefes. Sin duda, queda mucho por explorar y descubrir que mas fuerzas oscuras quedan en el interior de este templo maldito.
An important aspect that I also liked about this game is the aspect of Maya or Aztec that it has. Apparently we are trapped inside a temple and because of the theme of curses and everything dark, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the god of death. While I continue to find out more about the historical aspects of this game, I hope not to be cursed and then tell you more details about this game that has caused a positive first impression, wish me luck.
Un aspecto importante que también me ha gustado de este juego es el aspecto de Maya o Azteca que tiene. Al parecer quedamos atrapados dentro de un templo y por el tema de las maldiciones y todo lo oscuro, no me extrañaría que se tratase del dios de la muerte. Mientras sigo averiguando mas sobre los aspectos históricos de este juego, espero no quedar maldito para luego contarles más detalles sobre este juego que ha causado una primera impresión positiva, deséame suerte.
Note: In my first round, I managed to get against a boss, in a time span of 16min. I think I did pretty well.
Nota: En mi primera vuelta, logre llegar contra un jefe, en un lapso de 16min. Creo que me fue bastante bien.
