Rocket League With Friends is...... 30 Seconds of Pure Wasted Opportunities - Hive Gaming Contest

Hello everyone! This time, I wanted to participate in the initiative launched a few days ago by the Hive Gaming team.

The initiative involves choosing a moment in a game where you can see an epic fail, a beautiful scene, a glitch, or a notable play and posting about it.

I've been wanting to submit an entry for the contest for a few days now, but until now I wasn't convinced about uploading any content.

At first, I thought it would be a good idea to upload a highlight reel from Rocket League, since I've been performing very well in the game. However, I came up with a better idea: compiling the “worst” moments...

About a month ago, I started playing Rocket League with a group of friends who were insisting I play this “new” game for them. In my case, it was after four years of facing the challenge of relearning how to play, this time using a keyboard instead of a joystick.

One of the things that also encouraged me to get back into it was a post from user @pravesh0 where he talked about: 7 years, 2000+ hours later, I still suck at Rocket League.

Seeing the amount of time he put into it reminded me that, at the time, I had also invested a lot of time into it, and it's probably the game I've put the most hours into in my entire life.

Most of the group we play Rocket League with are just starting out in the game, so I had a pretty rough time in several of the matches.

The problem is also that I'm at a much higher level and rank than they are, so whenever we play casual or competitive, we tend to be matched with players of a similar skill level to mine.

I took the time to review clips from over an hour of gameplay and compile the worst moments, in which each of us (including myself) starred in bloopers during important matches. Laughter aside, every game played left us with anecdotes that were worth it.

In recent weeks, they have made considerable progress, even managing, from time to time, to reach Platinum level.

But that doesn't mean they haven't been struggling, dealing with painful defeats and matches that slipped away due to avoidable mistakes. Even so, between frustration and laughter, each game played left behind anecdotes that were worth it.

After finding some plays after watching an hour of clips, I put them all together into a twenty-nine-second video to comply with the contest rules.

I still felt that the video was a little empty, so I started looking for sound effects to add to the clips. After a long search, I managed to find the typical sounds that are often used in this type of video.
