Playing video games is a hobby that is very difficult to cause saturation in a person, due to the immense number of games and genres that exist today, what is true is that generally as the years go by we tend to look for better things, the games with better stories or better gameplay than others, or we simply try whatever catches our eye, in either case, there's still room for games like this, which without a story and fairly simple graphics, manage to get positive emotions out of us when playing it.

Human Fall Flat is a game that you might know from gameplays on YouTube, like many others that go viral at some point, created by No Brake Games and published by Curve Digital, available for almost any platform today, even Android mobile devices, since it's created in Unity which allows it to be a little easier to take it to so many platforms.

As soon as we start we can see our character, a "human", represented by a completely white and very flexible figure, falling infinitely in the sky, before starting the game we can customize it to our liking with different outfits and colors, in addition to saving different combinations to save the need to create them again when switching to another configuration.

Human Fall Flat is a multiplayer-oriented experience, where two people can play on split screen or through the internet, but it's also perfectly possible to advance by playing alone, which varies is that being two people you can do things faster, in addition of being twice as fun overall.

The controls are very simple, I will explain those corresponding to console and pc controls, it's enough to move the left stick to move the character and the right to move the camera, this in pc translates with WASD and the mouse as always, you can jump with the space bar, X on PS4, A on Xbox One, and the only thing left is the ability to raise the character's arms, left trigger for the left arm, and the right trigger for the right arm, with the arms you can press buttons, pull levers and grab objects.

Here the things complicate a bit, because the height at which the arms are raised depends on the camera, if you point down, they will only move a little, perfect for reaching boxes or other objects that are on the ground, if point to the middle, they will lift normally, and if the camera looks up the same will do the arms, using them in this way is very important to complete different sections of the game in which it is necessary to climb.

All of this may be a bit strange at first, but throughout the game there are square objects that when held play a short video explaining different aspects of the game as well as adding a bit of humor to the matter.

The levels are floating structures without edges, so we can easily fall if we approach the limit of the ground, this is harmless because when we fall we will simply appear again on the stage in question, there is no life bar so there is no damage from falling.

All this is possible thanks to the physics system of the game, for those who are not very technical, I mean a system in which there is gravity and all objects have a weight, so we can move them in different ways, some will be more heavier than others, creating a certain realistic element, despite the physics in this game being quite hilarious.

In specific levels there will be elements such as cranes or wrecking balls with which we can interact and even destroy some parts of the map, that sounds a bit obvious though.

More than being difficult, it's one of those games that takes advantage of the multiplayer element very well, and although it really has an online functionality, it's much more enjoyable with a friend next to you, similar to Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, which made us control the two protagonists with a single control, which by the way, in the future you will have my review of this game, but for now let's continue with Human Fall Flat.

I can't leave without mentioning the soundtrack, which is made up of piano tunes that add a "fatalistic?" and humorous at the same time, as well as a narrator who will occasionally make a couple of comments about humans, "They will go in through every door they see, they will press every button, but they will definitely never be able to fly..."

It's a game that is constantly updated and that it isn't really finished, so there's still to see all the content that its creators (and fans) add in the future, it goes without saying that Human Fall Flat is a recommended title for when you don't know what to play with a friend.

Jugar videojuegos es un hobbie que es muy difícil que cause saturación en una persona, debido a la inmensa cantidad de juegos y géneros que existen hoy en día, lo que sí es verdad es que generalmente conforme pasan los años tendemos a buscar mejores cosas, los juegos con mejores historias o mejor gameplay que otros, o simplemente probamos lo que sea que capte nuestro ojo, en cualquiera de los dos casos, aún queda lugar para juegos como este, que sin una historia y unos gráficos bastante simples, logran sacarnos emociones positivas al jugarlo.

Human Fall Flat es un juego que quizás conozcan por gameplays en YouTube, como muchos otros que se hacen virales en algún momento, creado por No Brake Games y publicado por Curve Digital, disponible para casi cualquier plataforma hoy en día, incluso dispositivos móviles Android, ya que es creado en Unity lo cual permite que resulte un poco más sencillo llevarlo a tantas plataformas.

Apenas empezar podemos ver a nuestro personaje, un “humano”, representado por un monigote completamente blanco y muy flexible, cayendo infinitamente en el cielo, antes de iniciar la partida podemos personalizarlo a nuestro gusto con diferentes atuendos y colores, además de guardar diferentes combinaciones para ahorrar la necesidad de crearlos nuevamente al cambiar a otra configuración.

Human Fall Flat es una experiencia orientada al multijugador, donde dos personas pueden jugar en pantalla partida o a través de internet, pero también es perfectamente posible avanzar jugando en solitario, lo que varía es que al ser dos personas pueden hacer las cosas más rápido, además de ser el doble de divertido en general.

Los controles son muy sencillos, explicaré los correspondientes a controles de consola y pc, basta con mover el stick izquierdo para mover al personaje y el derecho para mover la cámara, esto en pc se traduce con WASD y el mouse como toda la vida, se puede saltar con la barra de espacio, X en PS4, A en Xbox One, y lo único que resta es la capacidad de levantar los brazos del personaje, gatillo izquierdo para el brazo izquierdo, y el gatillo derecho para el brazo derecho, con los brazos se pueden presionar botones, tirar de palancas y agarrar objetos.

Aquí ya se complica un poco el asunto, pues la altura a la que se levanten los brazos depende de la cámara, si apunta hacia abajo, solo se moverán un poco, perfecto para llegar a cajas u otros objetos que están en el suelo, si apunta hacia el medio, se levantarán lo normal, y si la cámara ve hacia arriba lo mismo harán los brazos, usarlos de esta forma es muy importante para completar diferentes secciones del juego en las que es necesario escalar.

Todo esto puede ser un poco extraño al principio, pero a lo largo de todo el juego hay objetos cuadrados que al sujetarlos reproducen un breve video explicando diferentes aspectos del juego además de añadirle un poco de humor al asunto.

Los niveles son estructuras flotantes sin bordes, por lo que fácilmente podemos caer si nos acercamos hasta el límite del suelo, esto es inofensivo pues al caer simplemente apareceremos nuevamente encima del escenario en cuestión, no hay barra de vida así que tampoco hay daño por caída.

Todo esto es posible gracias al sistema de físicas del juego, para los que no sean muy técnicos, me refiero a un sistema en el cual existe gravedad y todos los objetos tienen un peso, por lo que podemos moverlos de diferentes formas, unos serán más pesados que otros, creando un cierto elemento realista, a pesar de que las físicas en este juego resultan bastante graciosas.

En niveles concretos habrá elementos como grúas o bolas de demolición con las cuales podemos interactuar e incluso destrozar algunas partes del mapa, aunque eso suene un poco a obviedad.

Más que ser difícil, es de esos juegos que se aprovechan muy bien del elemento multijugador, y aunque realmente tenga una funcionalidad online, es mucho más disfrutable con un amigo al lado, de forma similar a Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, el cual nos hacía controlar a los dos protagonistas con un solo control, que por cierto, en el futuro tendrán mi review de este juego, pero por el momento sigamos con Human Fall Flat.

No puedo dejar sin mencionar la banda sonora, que se compone de tonadas de piano que le añaden un tono entre “¿fatalista?” y humorístico a la vez, así como un narrador que ocasionalmente hará un par de comentarios sobre los humanos, “Entrarán por cada puerta que vean, presionarán cada botón, pero definitivamente nunca podrán volar…”

Se trata de un juego en constante actualización y que realmente no está terminado, por lo que aún queda ver todo el contenido que sus creadores (y fans) agreguen en un futuro, está de más decir que Human Fall Flat es un título recomendado para cuando no sepan que jugar con un amigo.
