Watchful Eye
Although the sun was high, it was the only time I could break away for a walk. I headed to a local park which has the river on one side and a small pond with a nice walking path on the interior. To escape the midday sun I strolled over to a shady area where I found dozens of White Ibis taking a break from the sun and napping in the shade. Because this park is a popular destination to those who live by, they are quite accustomed to humans, so I was able to just take a seat and spend some time shooting without raising any alarm. Or maybe it was just too hot for them to care!
Either way, I was able to catch a few beautiful moments with these wonderful creatures. This one in particular though kept a close eye on me the whole time. Sleeping with one eye open ;)
