Holding SPS Allow to Earn a ∼16% APR Through Staking and Rental
While I wait to find a solution for renting out my cards, I continue making progress with my slow SPS accumulation plan.
Tomorrow will be the day I convert another 1,000 DEC into SPS, bringing me even closer to my goal of 10,000 SPS—I should reach almost 9,600, meaning I’m still about three months away from my target.
However, increasing my SPS holdings isn't something I do just in the hope that their future value will be (much) higher; that’s definitely the main reason, but not the only one.
Holding SPS also allows you to earn rewards, which, if you have enough SPS, can turn into a nice and almost passive income.
Staking
SPS exists in both liquid and staked forms.
The latter involves "locking" your SPS through a process called staking; staked SPS cannot be transferred, and, to unlock them, you must initiate the unstaking process, which takes 28 days to complete.
So why would anyone stake their tokens? By now, even the walls probably know the answer, but in case someone doesn’t, the reason is staking rewards.
Staked SPS allows you to accumulate rewards distributed in SPS and VOUCHERS, with an APR currently sitting at 11.50%.
Renting
But that’s not all.
Staked SPS may be non-transferable, but they are delegable to other users.
Delegating SPS can be done for free… or for a price.
This means that, on top of staking rewards, you can also earn additional income by renting out your SPS to other users. The APR varies depending on whether you use the official market…
… or secondary markets like Xbot:
With SPS prices currently very low and the minimum rental price for 1 SPS (equal to 0.001 DEC), the APR from delegation is currently above 4.7% and can easily exceed 6% on secondary markets.
Summing it up
By taking advantage of both these opportunities, you can achieve a total APR of around 16% (or even higher in some cases), paid out in SPS, VOUCHERS, and DEC.
All three of these tokens are distributed in liquid form and can be easily (and freely) exchanged for any other token you may need.
Over time, my hope is to see this passive income grow more and more, allowing me to reinvest the earnings and enjoy Splinterlands even more.

Detenere SPS Consente di Ottenere un APR di Circa il 16% Grazie allo Staking ed al Noleggio
Mentre attendo di trovare una soluzione per il noleggio delle mie carte, continuo nel mentre a fare progressi con il mio lento piano di accumulo di SPS.
Domani sarà il giorno in cui procederò a convertire altri 1.000 DEC in SPS, avvinandomi così ancora di più al traguardo dei 10.000 SPS: dovrei arrivare quasi a 9.600, per cui ancora circa 3 mesi mi separano dal mio obiettivo.
Aumentare i miei SPS non è però un qualcosa che faccio solo nella speranza che il loro valore futuro possa essere (molto) più alto; questa è sicuramente la ragione principale, ma non è la sola.
Detenere SPS consente infatti anche di ottenere ricompense che, se si hanno abbastanza SPS, possono diventare una simpatica e piacevole rendita (quasi) passiva.
Staking
Gli SPS esistono infatti in forma liquida ed in forma staked.
La seconda consiste nel "bloccare" i propri SPS attraverso un procedimento che si chiama, per l'appunto, staking; gli SPS così bloccati non possono essere trasferiti e per tornare sbloccati è necessario avviare la procedura di unstaking, il cui completamento richiede 28 giorni.
Per quale motivo allora uno dovrebbe mettere i propri token in staking? Probabilmente ormai lo sa anche il muro il perchè, ma, ove qualcuno ancora non lo sapesse, la ragione sono le ricompense da staking.
Gli SPS staked consentono infatti di accumulare ricompense che vengono distribuite sotto forma di SPS e VOUCHER con un APR che attualmente si attesta all'11,50%.
Noleggio
Non è però finita qui.
Gli SPS staked sono infatti intrasferibili, ma delegabili agli altri utenti.
Delegare gli SPS può essere fatto gratuitamente... ma anche dietro compenso.
Ecco che quindi alle ricompense da staking è possibile aggiungere ciò che si ricava noleggiando gli SPS agli altri utenti: l'APR qui varia a seconda che ci si rivola al market ufficiale...
... o a market secondari, come quello di Xbot:
Complice anche il valore molto basso del token SPS ed il prezzo minimo di noleggio per 1 SPS, pari a 0,001 DEC, l'APR ottenibile grazie ad una delegazione è attualmente superiore al 4,7% e può tranquillamente superare il 6% nei market secondari.
Tirando le somme
Se si sfruttano entrambe queste opportunità si arriva ad ottenere un APR complessivo intorno al 16% (e, anzi, anche superiore in certi casi) che viene corrisposto in SPS, VOUCHER e DEC.
Tutti e tre questi token vengono distribuiti in forma liquida e possono facilmente (e gratuitamente) venire scambiati in qualsiasi altro token ci serva.
Nel tempo la mia speranza è di veder accrescere sempre più questa rendita passiva, in modo da poter sfruttare il ricavato per divertirmi sempre di più all'interno del mondo di Splinterlands.
