If we were all determined to play the first violin, we should never have an ensemble. Therefore, respect every musician in his proper place.

About the Quote
Just as an athletic team needs various types of players in order to compete and win, an orchestra needs every type of instrument assigned to it. A musical ensemble needs the sounds of various insturments in order for a memorable piece of music to be made.
Even cowbell has a place in a music ensemble or a symphony, but when "more cowbell" becomes "all cowbell" the magic of the music is gone. Even if an instrument is used one time for a fraction of a second, it could make or break the musical piece.
Besides the usual instruments found in a music ensemble, the unusal instruments server a purpose. Whether an instrument is used for the baseline sound, an accent, a cameo, or even a change of pace, it has its place in an emsemble and should be respected for its contributions.
Some Information about Robert Schumann
Robert Alexander Schumann was born in Zwickau, Saxony [present-day Germany] on 1810-June-8. He died in Endenich near Bonn, Prussia [present-day Germany] on 1856-July-29.
Robert Schumann was a music composer whose work was part of the German Romantic movement, a subset of what is considered classical music. He specialized in piano compositions, lieder compositions (poetry set to classical music), and orchestral music. Many of his best-known piano compositions were made specifically for Clara Schumann, his wife and a pianist.
At age 6 Robert Schumann began his musical education. He had been attending a private school until age 10, when he entered Zwickau Gymnasium (secondary school), where he would study for 8 years. In 1827, his final year at Zwickau Gymnasium, Schumann studied music under Austrian composer Franz Schubert and poetry under German poet Jean Paul Richter. It was also in his final year studying at Zwickau Gymnasium that Schumann began composing songs.
At 18, in 1828, Schumann left Zwickau Gymnasium. Due to family pressure, he matriculated at the University of Leipzig to study law. Despite being a law student at the University of Leipzig, Schumann spent his time engaged in musical pursuits: composing songs, piano improvisation, and his attempts to write novels.
