About the Quote
CEO-- Chief Executive Officer. This is the person at the top of the organization chart. This is the ultimate decision maker. This is the person who accepts input from various people and from varying perspectives. With all the responsibilities placed upon the CEO, it's a surprise to discover that there is no special education is needed for one to become a CEO.
This isn't to say that anyone from off the street can step into the C-Suite and run a company as CEO. However, the person who is to be CEO must be a person of good character, a sound decision-maker, and good at executing plans.
Most CEOs are also the founders of their respective companies, so it makes sense that they would be intimately familiar with the developments taking place within their companies and in their chosen markets. Although CEOs may not know everything, they don't need to know everything: that's why they have staff and assitants.
Parents are co-CEOs of their families. A small business owener is CEO of the small business. Citizen farmers can be elected to the top position in their region. Regardless of the size of the organization, the job of the CEO is essentially the same: to lead the organization to success by making sound decisions and executing sound plans.
