hi all!
Hopefully this is the last week where I need to hold back on volume and intensity. On Wendnesday I had the tune up session on my new tattoo Link to post - which means I need to allow it to heal before doing longer and more intense sessions. Nevertheless we can make the most of what we can do! Today this ment a beautiful trail run!
The plan was to run in a combination of nature reserve and open farmland and maintain a low heartrate (on paved routes below 137 bpm / unpaved below 150 bpm) the running pace didn’t really matter.
While it is only a relatively small area , I came across countless of birds, some wild rabbits, a snake (adder) and an ermine, which was pretty cool!
One thing I will have to set some funds aside for is to buy decent trail running shoes. I purchased my current running pair end of March and they are already worn out - but they are also simple running shoes. On days like today you really want to have some water resisting shoes as my socks were soaked again today (and this time less forgiving, counting 3 blisters near my toes). So with next salary going to buy both a new running aswell as a trail run pair!
The weather was simply perfect today! No sun - which ment I could wear a running top rather than some long sleeved shirt. Furthermore temperature low 20s degrees and dry more , more importantly the rain we had last week ensured that some of the pressing humidity was gone so breathing was lot easier again!
Happy running!!
