Summer has officially began with how hot it is in our country and surprisingly enough the tourists love the scorching heat more than its local! Speaking of tourists makes me wonder what they'd find interesting in our lil Chinatown aside from the various food trips here, although the historical walled city of Intramuros, from our past colonization is quite nearby, though it's not as majestic as Saint Malo, Brittany basing on the pics shared by @ljprom --built by the ocean, it provides the perfect picture of a kingdom built during a time of knights and kings! ♛👑♛
There's a certain vibe that comes off from places of old, which I can't quite pinpoint being a sense of nostalgia or melancholia, and sometimes museums also have that impact on some, added with a sense of wonder as to how a certain masterpiece came about, so what makes this place of second chances different, as shared by @laimagenhabla is that it exhibits already existing pieces to give them a second chance to be taken into a home. In a way it kinda reminds me of the 'broken hearts' museum I encountered, how each piece has a story behind them and what circumstances had them ended up in this place-- museums are truly places to let one's mind wonder.
Maybe after a too hot walk out in the sun and taking shelter in museums only made one's brain work, then it's time for a lil bit of convenience of sorts as shared by @cryptopsycho21 in this unbelievable 7-11 in Taiwan --and I say this as I've seen videos of shops like these in Japan, but Taiwan isn't too far off with their surprising array of goodies! Also, we've got stores like these here BUT they only end up looking small and cramped with a limited range of products, in various states of chaos. So yeah, if there's one thing at like to try in Japan AND now Taiwan, who knew 7-11 would be one of them? ┐(´ ∀｀)┌
On the topic of goodies, if there's a product I'm on the lookout for whenever I'm at a 7-11, it's a quick fix of a slice of cake to sweeten the day. I get that whole cakes are more practical, but if there's just two people living together, a whole cake with a single flavor does get boring to eat in a couple days in a row, unless you'd be making something that's not just sweet, but also something that'll go perfectly well with an afternoon shot of caffeine, much like this creamy, delicious looking, melt-in-your-mouth coffee dessert creation as shared by @tibilopez --it looks simple enough to make but there's no harm in asking OP for the recipe if you're planning to get the closest taste to this! 🎁🎂🍰
Tours done and bellies full, what other activity comes to your mind when it comes to spending the day in a leisurely pace? Painting could definitely be up there along with reading, but what's satisfying with the former is that you get to see a finished creation at your hands, no matter how simple it may look like these oriental style flower paints as shared by @pedagogy --it's worth to note that despite kids having painted this batch, it also takes patience to be able to apply it as elegantly as the real wisps of plum blossoms even the coldest of winters, and what a perfect subject indeed to focus the mind on, away from what's definitely the summer heat here! ε٩(๑⌓̈๑)۶з🌸
