But did you know that Moriarty was based on a real-life criminal?

This week, let's delve into the fascinating story of 'Adam Worth', a Union Army veteran who relocated to Europe after the Civil War and became one of the most notorious criminals of his time. He was so skilled in his criminal activities that he earned the nickname "the Napoleon of Crime".

Worth led organized crime rings that specialized in stealing works of art, forgeries, and much more, while following a strict code of conduct and refusing to resort to violence.
