Self-sabotage
It's no secret that we've all had moments where we self-sabotage. I tend to do this often because I have many irrational fears within me. Even though I've reflected and managed to address some of them, they still don't make them go away because I never fully commit to that goal. For example:
These are some of the irrational fears I've been able to identify that cause me to self-sabotage:
The main one is the fear of success. That's right, because I always think I'll do things well. The worst comes when I think beyond that success... the responsibilities, the exposure, etc., I start to overthink.
And this brings me to the second point: the fear of failure. Because after thinking I'll do well, the next thing is to think, what if I can't sustain all of this? What if I'm not really that good? From there, the thought develops: "If I don't do it, then I won't fail."
Of course, this point also leads us to the next one, as they are all intertwined. Procrastination becomes an ally because if you also have a perfectionist complex and you start to see that what you're doing isn't going the way you want, you often put off doing it because you're going to take time to evaluate it, but with that, you have the perfect excuse to give up on it before failing.
And this also leads us to the next point: the comfort zone. Your body doesn't like creating discomfort, so it activates defense mechanisms, like these fears.
Self-sabotage doesn't mean you're bad at something; often it's the opposite. As I said before, you're good at something, but your mind starts creating a defense mechanism to protect you from "threats, failures, strange changes."
Para nadie es un secreto que todos hemos tenido momentos donde nos auto saboteamos a nosotros mismos. Yo suelo hacerlo muy seguido porque dentro de mi existen muchos miedo irracionales que, a pesar de que yo he reflexionado y he logrado dar con alguno de ellos, igualmente eso no hacen que desaparezcan porque nunca termino de poner de mi esfuerzo para ese objetivo. Por ejemplo:

El principal de todos es el miedo al éxito, así es, porque yo siempre pienso que haré bien las cosas, lo peor viene como pienso más allá de ese éxito… las responsabilidades, la exposición, etc, empiezo a sobre pensar.
Y esto me lleva al segundo punto. El miedo al fracaso. Porque luego de pensar que me irá bien, lo siguiente será pensar ¿y si no puedo sostener todo esto? ¿Y si no soy tan buena realmente?. A partir de allí se desarrolla el pensamiento de si no lo hago, entonces no fallo.
Por supuesto qué, este punto también nos lleva al siguiente, ya que todos están entrelazados entre sí. La procrastinación se convierte en un aliada porque si también tienes un complejo de perfeccionismo y empiezas a ver que lo que estás haciendo no te está saliendo como quieres, muchas veces lo frenas porque te vas a tomar un tiempo para evaluarlo pero con eso, logras la excusa perfecta para dejarlo a miedo camino antes de fracasar.
Y esto también nos lleva al siguiente punto. La zona de confort. Crear incomodidades, no le gusta a tu cuerpo por eso activa mecanismos de defensa, como estos miedos.
Autosabotearte no significa que tú seas malo en algo, muchas veces es al contrario, como dije antes, eres bueno en algo pero tu mente empieza a crear un mecanismo de defensa para protegerte de “amenazas, fracasos, cambios extraños”.
