Hace unos días estaba indagando por Internet y me topé con una noticia que a mi parecer era digna de hacer un post y compartir con uds mi humilde opinión.

Al parecer la American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) o en español La sociedad americana de compositores, autores y editores, nombró al artista Bad Bunny como el mejor compositor del año por su tema del 2019 llamado "callaita". Devido a la cuarentena la gala se vio forzada a hacerse via online.

y bueno, en resumidas cuentas esa es la noticia de Bad Bunny pero ahora viene el motivo de inspiración para este post...
Sinceramente, yo pienso que Bad Bunny no debería tener ese titulo, y no lo digo en tono de odio ni tampoco en difamar su música, es solo que la palabra "Compositor" tiene un valor muy grande dentro de la comunidad de músicos.

Honestly, I think that Bad Bunny shouldn't have that title, and I don't mean it in a hateful tone nor in defaming his music, it's just that the word "Composer" has a very big value within the music community.

Entonces con esta definición podríamos decir que mínimo hay que tener un conocimiento en artes y obviamente conocimientos musicales para poder llegar a dar un mensaje al mundo de manera "correcta". Sin embargo este concepto se a ido enterrando y cada vez mas "cambiando" con el pasar de las décadas.
Es impresionante el pensar que en la época del clasicismo, el romanticismo, el barroco entre otros siglos pasados el arte era mucho mas estricto y las personas eran muy exigentes con lo que escuchaban o veían. Los interpretes del arte en sus diferentes ramas trabajaban muchísimo y hasta se desvelaban por mostrar una obra de arte (como diría mi buena amiga Edna moda de la película de los increíbles) para "dioses".
So with this definition we could say that at least you have to have a knowledge in arts and obviously musical knowledge to be able to give a message to the world in a "correct" way. However, this concept has been buried and is changing with the passing of the decades.
It is impressive to think that in the era of classicism, romanticism, baroque and other past centuries the art was much more strict and people were very demanding with what they heard or saw. The interpreters of art in its different branches worked very hard and even went out of their way to show a work of art (as my good friend would say Edna moda from the movie of the incredible) to "gods".
Tristemente con la llegada del siglo XXI, el arte abstracto, redes sociales, entre otras cosas, prácticamente cualquier cosa que haga o publique una persona con mucho dinero o popularidad se convierte (en la mayoría de los casos) en "arte".
Yo diría que colocar premios con títulos como "canción mas popular" o "mayor tendencia musical" es mas acertado que "compositor del año". no podemos decir que por el hecho de que una canción es mas escuchada o esté en tendencia significa que es "la mejor", ¿Por qué?
Te daré un ejemplo. No soy muy fanático del alcohol pero, si existiera un sistema que diga ¿Cual es la bebida alcohólica mas consumida al año? la respuesta sería sin duda alguna la cerveza, ya que es la mas accesible para la mayoría de las personas a la hora de hacer una fiesta o reunión, pero esto no significa que sea la mejor, existen variedades y marcas diferentes de bebidas alcohólicas que pueden ser 10 veces mejor que una cerveza. No por ser la mas consumida significa que se la mejor.
Sadly with the arrival of the 21st century, abstract art, social networks, among other things, virtually anything a person with a lot of money or popularity does or publish becomes (in most cases) "art".
I would say that placing awards with titles like "most popular song" or "biggest musical trend" is more accurate than "composer of the year". We can't say that just because a song is more heard or is in trend it means that it is "the best", why?
I'll give you an example. I'm not a big fan of alcohol, but if there was a system that says what is the most consumed alcoholic beverage per year, the answer would be without a doubt beer, since it is the most accessible for most people when it comes to having a party or meeting, but this doesn't mean that it is the best, there are different varieties and brands of alcoholic beverages that can be 10 times better than beer. Just because it is the most consumed does not mean that it is the best.
