A lovely morning today with the sun shining, but not too hot. I did my usual jog down to Henlow Bridge Lakes to run my guts out for a short while.
The turnout was not too bad with a few visitors. I set off fairly quick today, but it felt fairly comfortable and I was able to maintain a good pace for the first lap. As usual I slowed a bit on the third kilometre. I had a few ladies overtake me on the second half and there was no chance of me keeping up with them.
I found a little more energy for the last lap and managed to finish in just under 26 minutes. I have run around that in three of the last four weeks. It is interesting to look at the results and see a couple of guys in their 60s and two ladies in their 50s ahead of me. The oldies seem to do pretty well.
I was a little disappointed not to be quicker as I felt I had given it all I had, but at least I am not slowing down.
Next weekend I am doing my half marathon, so I may volunteer at parkrun to save my legs.
Run free and stay well.
