During my eight years on Hive I've been trying over and over again to convince others to join. I don't mean the frantic, pushy proselytizing that I'm sure would not work anyway, but instead sharing my enthusiasm for our blockchain-based social media. The results were soberingly meager, to say the least. While most seemed interested, there were less than a handful individuals who went through the relatively complex process of getting themselves a set of Hive keys. And out of those not one single one got even an introductory post written. How sad.

No me refiero al proselitismo frenético y agresivo que seguro no funcionaría de todos modos, sino a compartir mi entusiasmo por nuestra red social basada en blockchain. Los resultados fueron, como mínimo, lamentablemente escasos. Aunque la mayoría parecía interesada, solo unas pocas personas pasaron por el complejo proceso de obtener un juego de claves de Hive. Y de ellas, ni una sola llegó a escribir siquiera una publicación de presentación. Qué triste.

Then, out of nowhere, I get a message from someone I had praised Hive to more than a year ago, saying that he's ready. Great! It was my cannabis connection. I actually posted about his business once before, as I was quite impressed about his professionality. Clearly, these days with the law on its side, the product has stepped out of the shadows, offering great quality with crispy clean advertising. And being present on the most common social media platforms, getting established on Hive was the next logical step.
Entonces, de repente, recibo un mensaje de alguien a quien le había recomendado Hive hace más de un año, diciendo que estaba listo. ¡Genial! Era mi contacto cannábico. Hive On Board is apparently still down. After many months (years?) I don't even hope it'll be fixed ever again. Oh well, there are other ways. The one that we ended up using was Ecency's sign-up by e-mail. It was so fast and easy that I was surprised how quickly we had covered the safety aspects of the keys, and my friend was already writing his first post. Very nice! A good introduction post, albeit without the corresponding tags, which is probably why it hasn't gotten all those hearty welcome comments new bloggers usually get. But this should not matter, after all it's a process for all of us, and I'm certain he's got many more posts coming. Is it ever too late to write an intro post?
Al parecer, Hive On Board sigue caído. Después de muchos meses (¿años?), ni siquiera espero que lo arreglen. En fin, hay otras maneras. La que terminamos usando fue el registro por correo electrónico de Ecency. Fue tan rápido y fácil que me sorprendió lo rápido que cubrimos los aspectos de seguridad de las claves, y mi amigo ya estaba escribiendo su primera entrada. ¡Genial! Una buena entrada de presentación, aunque sin las etiquetas correspondientes, que probablemente explica por qué no ha recibido todos esos comentarios de bienvenida que suelen recibir los nuevos blogueros. Pero esto no debería importar; al fin y al cabo, es un proceso para todos, y estoy seguro de que tiene muchas más entradas por venir. ¿Alguna vez es demasiado tarde para escribir una publicación de introducción?

Have you guys onboarded lots of new Hiveans? Do you happen to know some good advice for newcomers, preferably assembled in a concise post (maybe even in Spanish)? I have found a few, like this one or this other one but maybe you happen to know more recent ones, or with more detailed infos. Or just go ahead and visit @farahfactory to welcome him to Hive and maybe give him some of your good advice directly. As for me, I am super happy that I've managed to get at least one other person to post on Hive. I really hope there will be lots more.
¿Ustedes han incorporado a muchos nuevos usuarios de Hive? ¿Conocen algunos buenos consejos para los recién llegados, preferiblemente resumido en una publicación concisa (quizás incluso en español)? He encontrado algunos, como este o este otro, pero quizá conozcan otros más recientes o con información más detallada. O simplemente visitan @farahfactory para darle la bienvenida a Hive y quizás compartir sus buenos consejos directamente. Por mi parte, estoy muy contento de haber conseguido que al menos otra persona publique en Hive. Espero que haya muchos más.
