Wishing you all the best of health, prosperity and success in all your goals, today I want to share with you my first espresso of the year, this was a long invitation that had been made to me a long time ago and finally destiny has summoned me so that this will be my first espresso of the year. A very special invitation
The days of January are a bit eventful for me since we normally start activities at the laboratory and university where I work but fortunately they gave us an extra week before we return. So I was able to attend my best friend's birthday, a true brother who has been with me supporting me and on his birthday he was kind enough to invite me to try his new Royal coffee maker.

My friend had bought this espresso machine some time ago, but due to our work and schedule we had not been able to find the time to properly use this coffee maker that has a milk frothing function for making cappuccino, so the functions of this wonderful machine are that in addition to espresso it also has the option of cappuccino and latte. But for this occasion we are going to subject this machine to its first test of fire: a standard, strong espresso coffee.
So the first thing we did was add the water, this coffee maker allows a maximum volume of 250 mL but since we are 2 coffee lovers who like to drink more than once we decided to make a volume of 4 cups. Now we had to determine the most important aspect of all, what kind of coffee we would use for this espresso.
The Chosen Coffee: Páramo Azabache
Then we begin to wash the chamber or container where we will place the ground coffee, its measurement is between 2 to 4 shots of coffee, I liked these measurements because these measurements are closely related to the type of coffee you are going to use, if it is a mild one, placing 2 shots can generate a very diluted coffee so it is necessary to be clear about the type of coffee you are going to use.

My good friend and I share many tastes, in beers, whiskeys and of course also in coffee and almost using the same criteria as me to choose the best coffee to make this espresso and it is nothing more and nothing less than the Páramo Café Azabache. My partner had never tried this brand of coffee and as soon as he opened the package he seemed to go into a trance when he perceived that magnificent smell that intoxicates you just by smelling it. Since there were 4 cups and this was a dark coffee, we decided to prepare a measure of 2 in the capsule and with the spoon I was filling it, the interesting thing is that it has a compactor for the coffee and thus ensure that the brewed coffee finally has the right concentration.

Once the water and coffee were placed in the machine, the coffee brewing process began and as you can see it looks strong, just how I like it. We also tried the foam system if we wanted to make a cappuccino or latte.

Esta máquina de hacer expreso mi amigo la había comprado hace ya un tiempo, pero por nuestro trabajo y horario no habíamos podido encontrar el momento de estrenar como se debe esta cafetera que tiene función de espuma de leche para hacer cappuccino, por tanto las funciones de esta maravillosa máquina es que además de expreso también tiene la opción de cappuccino y late. Pero para esta ocasión vamos a someter a este equipo a su primera prueba de fuego: un café expreso estándar bien cargado.
Entonces lo primero que hicimos agregar el agua, esta cafetera permite un volumen máximo de 250 mL pero ya que somos 2 personas amantes del café que nos gusta tomar más de una vez decidimos hacer un volumen de 4 tazas. Ahora quedaba determinar el aspecto más importante de todos que clase de café utilizaríamos para este expreso.
El Café Elegido: Páramo Azabache
Comenzamos entonces a lavar la cámara o recipiente donde colocaremos el café molido, su medida esta entre 2 a 4 golpes de café, estas medidas me agradaron por que estas medidas están estrechamente relacionadas con la clase de café que vayas a utilizar, si es uno suave colocar 2 golpes puede generar un café muy diluido por lo que es necesario tener claro el tipo de café se va a utilizar.

Mi buen amigo y yo compartimos muchos gustos, en cervezas, whikys y por supuesto también en café y casi usando los mismo criterios que yo para escoger el mejor café para hacer este expreso y es nada más y nada menos que el Páramo Café Azabache. Mi compañero jamás había probado esta marca de café y tan solo abrir el empaque pareció entrar en trance al percibir ese magnifico olor que te embriaga con tan solo olerlo. Como eran 4 tazas y este era un café oscuro decidimos preparar una medida de 2 en la cápsula y con la cuchara fui llenándolo, lo interesante es que tiene un compactador para el café y así asegurarse que el café colado finalmente tenga la concentración adecuada.

Una vez colocado el agua y el café en la máquina comenzó el proceso de colado del café y como pueden ver su aspecto es bien cargado justo como a mi me gusta. También probamos el sistema para hacer espuma si quisiéramos hacer cappuccino o late.

Luego de colado el café procedimos a servirlo en las tazas para hacer entonces la primera degustación y wow! amigos no hay duda este expreso quedó 10/10 bien cargado y con un sabor único que solo puede obtenerse al preparar un café de esta manera. Ya me estoy convenciendo de comprar una cafetera como esta!

Por supuesto, necesitábamos acompañar este café con algo dulce y que mejor que un buen pan achocolatado y listo amigos, un café cargado con un postre para conversar con tu mejor amigo, del trabajo, de cryptos y de los futuros proyectos para este 2025, Son estos los momentos que vale la pena disfrutar porque aunque parecieran breves, precisamente por ser efímeros tienen un valor significativo en nuestros recuerdos.
