Happy New Year 2023 🎉
Welcome to Coffee Conversation Central, a curation compilation of comments from our recent Coffee Conversation event that was held here at Cinnamon Cup Coffee, to boost interaction amongst authors.
A fun topic was presented, to get authors thinking about their favourite elixir of life - coffee.
Are people who add sugar to their coffee infidels?
Whatever your opinion, think up a coffee-inspired (good or bad) name for people who add sugar to their coffee, and an illustration to depict the selected name.
Well, here are some of the best thought-provoking responses.
@aiden.space.bar says sugar drinkers are dubbed...
"Scrupledinas"

A common misconception is that coffee is just bitter. Coffee is flavoursome and unique, as the bean is influenced by its environment and every single process from the green bean to roasting to grinding to pouring method etc. This is an image of my coffee plunger. This is relevant as the thought of shrieking Scrumpledina's seeing the "strong, bitter" coffee is somewhat comical. Ultimately people should enjoy coffee, however, they would like to. With or without sugar, as it is YOUR COFFEE EXPERIENCE.
@nidabyzt says people who lack a sense of taste
are called 👇
"Sugar Swamped Palates"

For me, people who put sugar in their coffee are people who lack a sense of taste. If they had this sense, I am sure they would not make the mistake of suppressing this unique aroma with sugar. So, with apologies, they are Sugar Swamped Palates! 😀
@christianyocte says an unhealthy Coffee-Lover is prone to diabetes ðŸ˜
His nickname for such a person is 👇
"Sugarcoated Coffee-Lover"

People who add sugar to their coffee are unfaithful. They are dishonest people or sugarcoated individuals who live in lies. Therefore, he/she can be called a Sugarcoated Coffee-Lover.
@theapothecary says Coffee Infidels
are equivalent to a 👇
"Half roasted grain stuck between the teeth"

Most definitely people who take sugar with their coffee are infidels. If they can't accept the bitterness of coffee, they won't accept yours 🤠people who need to sweeten coffee don't know what the good stuff is.
@abisag says I am not unfaithful
Her pet name for sugar lovers 👇
"Cactus-Tamers"

Whoever adds sugar to coffee is not unfaithful, he is simply a loving tamer of this strong but extremely pleasurable beverage... The coffee is as strong as a cactus, it has passed the test before many diners and has always come out victorious. You just have to let the tamer do his job, just as the botanist manages to make a little plant like the cactus with so much character become more attractive and steal our sighs 😉😉.
@sofiaquino98 says Traitors of the Natural Flavour of Coffee
are regarded as 👇
"Capricious/damaged taste buds"

I don't want to offend anyone, but... (proceeds to offend)😂... If you want a sweet you can have an ice cream or a cake... coffee is what it is, and its taste is best appreciated without any sugar! I would call them Traitors to the Natural Flavour of Coffee. Or perhaps, capricious/damaged taste buds.🤣🤣
@mdosev says One man’s meat is another man’s poison
His nickname for people who have sugar in their coffee 👇
"Sugar heads"

Oh, poor Sugar heads… I will never be able to understand your thinking… or… would I? The Sugar heads are just ordinary people and you cannot blame someone for preferring a type of food or drink one way or another. After all, one man’s meat is another man’s poison! But why do the Sugar heads prefer their coffee sweetened?
@restcity says The Creme-Heathens
are people who have sugar in their coffee, shortened as 👇
"Creathens"

They drink among the shadows of the coffee community, being left out by pure black natural coffee lovers. That's not to say I blame them for their sugary-sprinkled Frappu-felonies. They used to be just like the others until they followed the trail of sugar that lured them to the other side...
@chacald.dcymt says Sweeteners simply take you away from the original flavour
Her nickname for people who take sugar is 👇
"Cloying"

It is a person who must feel that sweetness floods his mouth to enjoy a good coffee.it is a person who must feel that sweetness floods his mouth to enjoy a good coffee.
@itsostylish says In coffee you’re a mess
Her nickname for people who take sugar with their coffee 👇
"Molasses Eyes"

Hey, Sugar, what do you say? Where do you belong, my sweet… my sweet? Do you like to tango, do you love to dance? Do you love to sing a deep saccharin melody? Do you ? My sweet! You mingle well, you’re delicious in a mix. But, let’s confess, in the coffee you’re a mess. It’s a case of less is more and you’re the bane of a perfect cup. You’re the relish to desire. The affection of over which few tire. A notion of devotion. A spectre of delight. But, I beg you Sugar, stay away from my coffee with your Molasses-eyes."
