His daily struggle to create new articles and stand out from his peers has been no easy task.
Until one morning, while sipping coffee and watching dating shows on his TV, he had a brilliant idea....
What if I write an article on the pros and cons of dating somewhere specific...that would surely be interesting for the readers, because...who wouldn't like to be one step ahead, to be prepared and psychologically anticipate these scenarios...?
But what could be a good place to talk as a reference?...and while looking for a few seconds at the cup of coffee, I look up towards a small coffee shop, I feel my questions begin to collect their own answers.
Aha!!! A coffee shop wouldn't be bad. In fact, this particular one has a very peculiar history which I would like to delve into and study further to make my article as complete as possible, speaking not only from my perspective but also from testimonials and anecdotes from their own customers and workers.
As a coffee obsessed person, I think, what better way to make a meeting concrete, than going to a place where coffee is the protagonist and ...who doesn't like coffee? That is certainly a plus point.
The truth is that my love life is not something I am proud of, in fact, I have had very bad experiences in blind dates, and I don't think I will be the only one to go through this.
So that future couples don't have this happen to them like me, it would be awesome to come up with some sort of guide for those couples who want to have a "perfect" date in one of the best places like a coffee shop.
So quickly and without wasting any more time, I set out to visit my neighboring coffee shop and gather as much information as possible before returning home and sitting down to write.
When I arrived, I did not want to introduce myself as a journalist, my intention was not to break with the natural atmosphere of the local people, I simply arrived and sat down as a customer who loves to take his coffee out of the house.
I find it strange how I haven't come here before, I don't know what it is about most coffee shops that give off a nice comforting warm vibe, plus the delicious and relaxing aroma of freshly brewed coffee that would give the date a possible romantic ambiance, something certainly very positive for a meeting.
However, from what I can observe, being such a popular and frequented place, couples would not have much privacy and intimacy to chat about more personal matters, being surrounded by many people, especially if it is a very famous coffee shop like this one, would make me very nervous not to handle the situation and make a bit of a fool of myself..
Hours go by, and I continue sitting in a corner of the cafeteria with the best views of the whole place, looking at every detail to take notes of the smallest detail for my article..
When suddenly, I was approached by a small kitten that notoriously and without being very expert, appeared to be from the street. The curious thing for me was to discover that in that coffee shop they let animals in, and in fact, the owners themselves left food and water containers at the entrance for them...that's great!!!. This would definitely add points to a date for those coffee and animal lovers, the more things in common the better. The downside I would see to this would be if my date does not like to have animals around while enjoying their coffee or any food, I know many hygiene neurotics that this idea would not appeal to them, and on a first date this would detract a lot of points and would also create a very awkward moment for sure.
Without noticing the clock... it was almost time to close the cafeteria. And the truth is that I feel satisfied because I was able to check and collect a lot of important information.
So far this was what I had written:
Just at that moment when I decide to get up from my chair, the barista girl of the place signals me to approach her.
A little surprised I turn to her and to my surprise, she knew me!
Well...looking at her more closely I start to recognize her and remember my history with her.
It turns out that as children we were neighbors and we used to play together every afternoon, used to drink a coffee that her mother prepared with a special ingredient that made it simply delicious. She was and still is a very beautiful woman and I must confess that since then I am still attracted to her.
Talking a little more with her I found out that due to the passing of her mother she had to leave the country and try her luck in what she loved to do the most which was to prepare a coffee that was as good as her mother made it and share that delicious taste with the rest of the people.
Her story moved me and inevitably I was enchanted as when we were children...I never imagined I would find her here again fulfilling such a beautiful dream!
From the excitement I had already forgotten why I came...ahh right, the mission! But I didn't want to leave her either, and by her look and gestures I noticed that she didn't want to do it either. Then she called the owner of the cafeteria, who turned out to be her brother, to close the place and keep us inside with the place all to ourselves.
Once there, we made ourselves comfortable and I took the opportunity to tell him about my idea for my article and to get his opinion.
...wait a second, now I'm on a date?
It's amazing how in the end my mission ended up catching up with me, what started as a casual visit to the coffee shop, turned into a nice story when I met my first love again.
After this, I finally gave a different twist to my article, narrating a little of my experience and my life story with love. To my happy surprise, a few days after the publication, it was very successful and accepted, it turns out that many people agreed that the coffee shop is one of the best and most sought after places for first encounters. So with this I learned that no matter how many pros and cons the atmosphere of a coffee shop may have for first encounters or dates, without a doubt today I proved that with a good company, these places are magical and are ideal for love or any kind of relationship to be born.
"And if something goes wrong... with a good coffee the sorrows pass 😌☕".
