First of all, Congratulations to the Hive Learners Community for reaching 5000+ subscribers.
I love creating digital images, and since Hive Learners was the second community that I joined, I would like to help improve its community page.
Steps:
Viewing on different Devices
The first thing I did was analyze the dimensions of the graphics on different devices, one on desktop and the other on mobile.
The truth is, I don't think the actual image should be 1920 x 245. So, I created two images with the same concept. One in the given dimensions for the contest and the other one based on what I think the right dimensions should be.
I observed this by viewing the change in dimensions using mobile and desktop views.
Marking the places where Text and buttons would fall
I have marked the places where text and buttons would fall so that I can avoid putting images there.
The problem is, it is really hard to think of a design that will not be covered when viewing headers that change depending on the device you are using.
What could be the best solution?
Ah, I should use a patterned background, but instead of using a typical background as graphics, I've decided to use logos and images that can be associated with the community and its values.
The Images
The first type of logo that I have thought of is the popular social network platforms that we use, which are running on the Hive blockchain, such as PeakD, Ecency, Hive Blog, Dbuzz, and Liketu.
The next set of patterns will be about learning images that I can associate with learning, like books, bulb ideas, brains, and graduation cap.
All of the images are from Pixabay, so they are free to use. Source links at the end of this post.
I alternate the placement of items and logo horizontally.
Slanted the images
Put a map background behind to showcase the diversity in ethnicity in our community and adjust the opacity.
Finished Header
Like what Ive told you, I also created a different size so that the banner will not be trimmed on different devices
Note:
I did not use the logo because it will already show in the community's profile image, and I think it will be redundant.
