Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be *Week 171, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “SOCIAL MEDIA CALL-OUT”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “HISTORY REPEATS”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us their thoughts on history repeating itself. With so many things happening in the world today, it can easily be traced to the past where similar actions were taken, and they led to unfavorable results. With the way things are going today, it’s quite easy to predict similar results in the near future.
We got to see the different ideas that people had on this topic. From issues like war to social lifestyle, there was a lot to say on the matter. Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. This may be the case if people are not ready to learn from the past. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w171e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, A SIMPLE BUT FACTUAL THOUGHT by @amjadsharif
This author told us that from his perspective, countries of the world seemed to be drifting more and more towards war. Today, one country or the other is embroiled in one form of major conflict or the other, and these are issues that have great effects on the economy and lead to even more conflict.
UNCANNY REPETITIVE HISTORICAL EVENTS by @emrysjobber
For this author, he told us about how easy it can be for people to fall for ponzi schemes even when previous cases were widely publicized when they failed. Yet, when a new one comes up, there are people who would still invest in such schemes, losing their money. At this point, it just might be a simple case of ignorance.
WHAT WE DON’T LEARN FROM WARS @crazyphantombr
For this author, he shared with us how easily the world seemed to be moving towards an all-out war. And despite everyone knowing the devastating effect war could have on both sides, the crippling effect on the economy, and total destruction that it brings with it, yet, there are those who still think that indeed, war is the way.

But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:

THE GHOSTS OF THE 1930s: CAN WE AVOID ANOTHER GLOBAL CATASTROPHE by @manclar

These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!
Week 171 - Edition 03 Topic
“Should our opinions and ideas shared on social media be enough reason for dismissal? It could be dismissal from a job or a school for students. If the opinions are well within the rights of the person who owns them without infringing on the rights of others, do institutions hold the right to take action if such opinions don't tally with their values and policies?”
