Suggestion For the Next 100 weeks

Hive Learners was one of my favorite community on Hive. It has different types of activities for members to participate and one of those were the weekly Featured Edition prompts. Writing from scratch is already hard task but what makes it more difficult is when we have no idea of what topic to write but with the Featured Edition prompts, we get not one but three topics to participate which makes writing way easier for the past 100^th weeks. Going through for the next 100 weeks, I have some suggestions to make that I think might be able to help improve Featured Edition prompts to allow more people to participate on it.

• 1^st Suggestion: Increase the Featured Edition Topics

The topics suggested on the Featured Edition prompts were mostly easy to write but as people, there are times that even when we find the topic easy, we just don't have the necessary knowledge and experience to write those topics or maybe its a topic we find less interesting which makes us lazy to write. With that thought in mind, maybe we could add another topic for each edition like this:

    hl-101e1a - Your Drunken Experience
    hl-101e1b - Game Addiction

For each edition, there is at least 2 topics to write so that they can choose which of the available topics they could write better. Of course, only 1 topic can be written for each edition to avoid anyone abusing it and the proper tags for each topic should be applied to avoid confusion for the curators. So even when the topics were increased, the number of post each member can write for the featured edition was still capped a 3 post per week.

• 2^nd Suggestion: Include polls in choosing Topics

For those who don't know, the topics that are chosen for the Featured Edition prompts are decided through votes during Hangouts on the Hive Learners Discord channel so only those present during the Hangout can choose the topic. As we know, the community has members that lives in different parts of the world so the time where the voting for the topic commence may not be inaccessible to them. So maybe, what we can do here is to make a poll 2-3 days before the Hangout to give others the chance to cast their vote. I do not know if the polls on Inleo was already fixed but if not, maybe we can use X (formerly Twitter) on this for now.

Will this make others not to participate on Hangout?

I don't think so because the members that vote using polls won't be able to participate on the games during Hangout so they miss the opportunity to win Hive and I also believe that the members that participate during the Hangout participate because they want to engage with other community members.

• 3rd Suggestion: Lets make Featured Edition Trending on Social Media Platforms

As straightforward as it is, let us share the post we make on social media platforms. This suggestion does not necessarily improve the Featured Edition prompts but what it may do was increase the exposure of Hive Learners to web2 users which can help in onboarding people not only on Hive Learners but also on Hive in general. For all we know, there may be Web2 people that are already aware of Hive but the lack of idea to write makes them shay away from blogging. Suddenly, here we are sharing our Featured Edition post on X (formerly known as Twitter) which the web2 people saw and realized that:

"Oh! So Hive Learners gives topic suggestions to write and with this, maybe I can start my blogging journey."

As a blogger, I think that this was also a good idea because aside from the rewards, what we want for our blogs is to be read by others and sharing them on web2 platforms increases the people that will potentially read our blogs so this does not only benefits the community but also benefits us.

For now, those were the suggestions that I think will help to improve the Featured Edition prompts. Some suggestions could not be implemented right away specially since week 101 is coming but it would be cool if my suggestion can be adopted in the future. Anyways, let me once again congratulate Hive learners for reaching the 100 week milestone for the Featured Edition prompts and to have the next 100 weeks more productive for everyone.
