And tonight I would like to say just how sad that I am that not only are those devastating wildfires blazing through the NW of the USA and Sally has ripped the the SE of the USA, but fires are also raging through, what are supposedly the wetlands of Brasil, The Amazon and surrounding countries.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You may only think of fires as the burning of an area of land, but there are far more devastating and mostly unseen side effects from these superfires.
Sure, the bush grows back- eventually, but what about the animals and the environmental biodiversity and the intricate ecology.
Yes it too will come back- maybe- eventually, but can we wait that long as these environments are what keeps the balance of the earth- what's keeps us breathing oxygen.
And speaking of oxygen, consider the damage that it does to your body when you breathe in those invisible smoke particles.
We all need to have a safe and clean earth, free from drought, climate disasters and superfires, otherwise we will be living in a much, much worse science fiction movie than we already are.
Please lighten your footprint. Do whatever you can to reduce, recycle and reuse.
I know I do and not only is it great for the earth, but fantastic for my wallet (and travel plans) too!
And if we all do our small part, then that will make a huge difference to your great grandchildren- not mine as I didn't have any....
