Well hello there everyone, I hope that you're well and I'm so happy that it's #Wednesday- my Favourite day of the week, especially here in #Hive as I get to sit in my chair and travel around the world, seeing so much more through your eyes than I would if I was there In real life- although, one day, I will be walking in your footsteps in real life, so let's call this practice until I get to travel and do the real thing, so I'd really like to thank @tattoodjay for creating this great community and if you don't know what it's all about, from @tattoodjay himself....created/hive-155530
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
And, in all honesty, I have been dying to post this walk here for months now, even though I only did it a few days ago and that is because this walk has been a dream if mine since I last walked it when I was a child, so about 35-40 years ago..π±
And when I walked it then, I totally fell in love with it and have loved it and dreamed about it ever since and I can't believe, after having to completely abandon the plans a few days beforehand, that I actually finally got to do it, finally got to go there!
So without further ado, I introduce you to one of the most Extraordinary, stunning, sublime and sensationally historical, environmentally diverse areas in the world, and definitely in Australia, and that is Bittangabee Bay on the Far South Coast of NSW, Australia and you can find it here on #pinmapple [//]:# (!pinmapple -37.217248 lat 150.016401 long The beautifully rustic Bittangabee Bay and campground d3scr)
Bittangabee Bay is a tiny, picturesque bay on the rugged and remote stretch of coastline south of Eden in New South Wales, Australia.
The bay is located in Ben Boyd National Park, and there is a campground nearby.[1]
The facilities are maintained by National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), Merimbula office.[2] It can be reached by an unsealed road from the Princes Highway.
The bay is the only haven between Twofold Bay and Mallacoota Inlet, and passing yachts are seen anchored for the night there most evenings. It is fed by Bittangabee Creek.
Bittangabee Bay was significant for the indigenous people of the region, and early European settlement.[3]
Bittangabee Bay was known as 'Pertangerbee' by the original occupants of the area, the Thaua/Thawa/Thauaira people of the Yuin (Murring) nation, who have lived there for over 6,000 years.[4]
Naa-chi (now Nadgee Nature Reserve), on the other side of Green Cape to Bittangabee Bay, is the resting-place of their Rainbow Serpent, the most important totem of most Aboriginal people.

As I watch the clouds to the east on the distant horizon to the eastern pink in the sunset I sit and listen to the water gently crashing on the rocks around me and stare in disbelief as I realise Iβm here.
Iβm finally here. Iβm back in the dream that I once had so long ago and today I finally made it back to that spot.
That spot is a truly enchanting and magical little bay on the Far South Coast of New South Wales- just south of the historical whaling town called Eden.
Located down a dirt track from historic Greencape Lighthouse, The Ly-ee-moon Graveyard and Distaster Bay in Ben Boyd National Park Bittangabee Bay was significant for the indigenous people of the region, and early European settlement.[3]
And this is one of the many amazing sights that I was lucky enough to capture on my 2 day walk around the area, especially since a sighting like this is quite rare...@chocolatescorpi/yrvutgtm infact, as this is a video that I took of a rare sighting of the Lyrebird, a native Australian bird in the bush right there, this is a must watch too!
And these rocks just amaze me as for just 'rocks' there are so many colours and patterns to them in the one spot and even right on top of each other....
And then the scrumptious sunset.
Unfortunately my photos just don't do it justice and I did promise you a sunrise photo of the place when I got here @tattoodjay and here it is below...
and I think under the circumstances, being the rain that is...it was the best I could get- which was a total shame because I even set my alarm to get up for it! π
I really did I promise you!
And infact, this is me waking up to the sound of rain on the car even before the alarm went off...
So lucky I decided at the very last minute before throwing my swag in the ground to spread it out in the back of the car instead....π³
So as there is so much to see in Ben Boyd National Park and I took about 1000 photos, over the following weeks I will be posting them here so you can join me again for another virtual tour of this fantastic area in NSW.
