This past Sunday, my son had a concert with an orchestra in the town of Calpe. It was an orchestra concert from the conservatory he used to attend (in Altea), and an ensemble of three choirs—from the towns of Calpe, Altea, and Benidorm. After a few hours spent with him, some of our activities you could already see in this post, we headed to this town and accompanied him to the church where they had a rehearsal. It was at the Nuestra Señora de las Nieves Parish, the building you can see.

Sorry about the benches and all these people in front of the building; it seems they had a meeting here, spending a few hours with snacks and beers. Luckily, the rehearsal was not here, outside, but inside the church, which is so beautiful. We arrived first, followed by the director of the musical project. After greeting him, my husband and I went for a walk in the old town and then along the seashore. It was quite a long walk, so I will focus today just on the part of the old town. 😅
We returned to the concert in the evening, just in time as it started.

The old part of this town, Calpe, is a typical Spanish town with narrow streets and stone houses, but one of the things that makes it so nice is the murals on the walls. It is also very clean and tidy. We really had a pleasant time strolling around and I took a few photos too. A few...? 😅
Ok, many, but I will try to bring here just a selection of things I saw. Yes, only old buildings - some with painted facades, but also flower pots in front of houses, orange blossom and some crocheted stuff.
Let's go.

This is Don Manuel Miro Square with its huge mural. The orange trees you see in the previous photo were full of flowers, which smell so good!

On one wall, there were a few mosaics made of tiles representing the province of Alicante with its main characteristics and historical buildings. Now we live somewhere there, in the centre of this province.

A little angel in the facade of one house. 😍

The angel was tiny, but all the other murals were more visible.

Even if the following houses didn't serve as a canvas for art, the plants and other little details, as the balconies or wooden doors, made them charming.

This was a museum, Museu Casa de la Senyoreta. Its patio had three sets of benches, each one with a table in the middle, with board games. :))

We had plenty of time to wander around and feel this old vibe, almost like a ghost town, but that was true just for some streets. The rest of Calpe had a very lively afternoon.

Here we see another museum, with a sculpture in its entrance, playing the harp.

I mentioned flower pots at the beginning of the post as one of the details that make this old town more interesting and colourful.

When we were already leaving the old town and heading toward the seashore, we spotted these cool covers for the plant pots. Flowers and bees are now everywhere, even in this crocheted form. 🐝
