Una de las actividades tenidas por hacer y la cual se facilitó con la caminata hecha junto a @hosgug, ha sido la compra de tickets para tener una cena con vino en un teatro, con el fin de disfrutar una de las expresiones artísticas más representativas de la Argentina: El Tango. En dicho recorrido nos tropezamos con un teatro llamado "Piazzolla", apellido de un famosísimo autor del sensual estilo de baile y donde ofrecen el espectáculo nocturno. Se encuentra ubicado en la calle Florida 165, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Las entradas no son económicas, pero valen cada peso pagado. Para dos personas, los tickets tuvieron un valor de $ARS 87500 cada uno (algo cercano a los $USD 83), éstos incluyen: mesa reservada en un balcón lateral del teatro exclusivo para la pareja, cena con entrada, principal y postre, además de agua ilimitada y una botella de vino de su elección.

One of the activities we had to do and which was facilitated by the walk done together with @hosgug, has been the purchase of tickets to have a dinner with wine in a theater, in order to enjoy one of the most representative artistic expressions of Argentina: Tango. In this tour we stumbled upon a theater called “Piazzolla”, surname of a very famous author of the sensual dance style and where they offer the night show. It is located at 165 Florida Street, in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Tickets are not cheap, but they are worth every peso paid. For two people, the tickets had a value of $ARS 87500 for one ticket (something close to $USD 83), these include: reserved table in a side balcony of the theater exclusively for the couple, dinner with starter, main course and dessert, plus unlimited water and a bottle of wine of your choice.
Por supuesto, también incluye el espectáculo que ya -por sí solo- vale la entrada pagada. Llegamos pasadas las ocho de la noche debido a que el centro de la ciudad tenía cerradas todas las entradas con motivo de una maratón corrido en la ciudad, pero finalizaba en la zona donde se encuentra el teatro. Son tres horas de duración y en la primera hora se suponía recibiría una clase de tango con treinta minutos de duración. Eso no sucedió, a pesar de la promesa recibida cuando nos vendieron el ticket. Sin embargo, tal inconveniente no echó a perder la expectativa que llevamos respecto a lo que más tarde se vendría. La idea es que los visitantes cenen antes de comenzar el show, así que pedimos nuestras preferencias culinarias y las acompañamos con vino blanco.

Of course, it also includes the show, which in itself is worth the entrance fee. We arrived after eight o'clock at night because the city center had closed all the entrances due to a marathon that took place in the city, but that ended in the area where the theater is located. It is three hours long and the first hour was supposed to be a thirty-minute tango lesson. That did not happen, in spite of the promise received when the ticket was sold to us. However, this inconvenience did not spoil the expectation we had for what was to come later. The idea is for visitors to have dinner before the show starts, so we ordered our culinary preferences and accompanied them with white wine.
Difícilmente puedo hablar de la historia del tango, puesto que no disponemos de sapiencia en la materia. ¿Que puedo decir al respecto? Lo popular de su práctica en el país, a pesar de las nuevas generaciones quienes prefieren música más reciente, hace del tango una expresión de arte imperecedero. El show comienza con un performance de cuatro parejas sobre las tablas, acompañadas con la música de una banda en vivo y con una pantalla led gigante en el fondo del escenario. La iluminación del set es espectacular y mientras las parejas danzan, imágenes asociadas al género (sean autores, cantantes o bailarines) inundan las pupilas del espectador, haciendo de la noche un dechado de sensaciones de múltiples matices visuales y auditivas. Algo así es muy difícil de olvidar.

I can hardly talk about the history of tango, since we have no expertise in the matter. What can I say about it? The popularity of its practice in the country, in spite of the new generations who prefer more recent music, makes tango an everlasting expression of art. The show begins with a performance of four couples on the stage, accompanied by the music of a live band and a giant LED screen at the back of the stage. The lighting of the set is spectacular and while the couples dance, images associated with the genre (whether authors, singers or dancers) flood the viewer's pupils, making the night a collection of sensations of multiple visual and auditory nuances. Something like this is very difficult to forget.
Luego de la presentación multitudinaria, comenzaron las parejas solistas a ofrecer su arte. Una mejor que otra, no dejaban de transmitir la pasión y sensualidad característicos de ésta danza tan alegre como nostálgica. Porque tales son los ritmos que se mezclan en los compases y la música. Los malabares mostrados sobre las tablas, indican una experiencia de años dedicados al aprendizaje de parte de los bailarines. También disfrutamos de cuatro cantantes (dos mujeres y dos hombres) quienes ofrecieron piezas musicales con voces extraordinarias. La banda también tocó en solitario acompañada por las imágenes de la pantalla gigantesca en el fondo de la escena. Cerraron la noche con una despedida épica y el aplauso de todos quienes estuvimos allí. ¿Noche redonda? Juzgue usted, mi estimado lector y no se pierda el vídeo adjunto.

After the multitudinous presentation, the soloist couples began to offer their art. One better than the other, they did not fail to transmit the passion and sensuality characteristic of this dance, as joyful as it is nostalgic. Because such are the rhythms that are mixed in the beats and music. The juggling shown on the boards, indicate an experience of years dedicated to learning on the part of the dancers. We also enjoyed four singers (two women and two men) who offered musical pieces with extraordinary voices. The band also performed solo accompanied by the images of the giant screen in the background of the stage. They closed the night with an epic farewell and the applause of all of us who were there.
