Hey guys!! Today I will be taking you on a virtual journey to National Defence Academy. The prestigious institution where officers in the Indian army, navy, and Air Force are made. The academy is located in Khadakwasla, Pune. It is located 39 miles from the city of Pune and is known as the first tri-service academy in the world. Cadets from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy train here together for 3 years before being commissioned as officers in their chosen fields of service.

The academy has a lush green campus of 7000 acres (approx.) and the main block is known as the Sudan block. The academy has excellent infrastructure for all-around training and the physical & mental development of the cadets. It is fully equipped with all the sports facilities such as a gym, two Olympic-size swimming pools, football fields, and horse riding equipment. The training period is divided into 6 terms and each term lasts for 6 months.

The competition for joining the National Defence Academy is very high! It receives nearly 450,000 applications twice a year for just 400 (approx.) seats. The selection probability is 0.0888% 😱. The best of the best students are selected for the academy and then they train here for 3 years and are later commissioned as officers in the Indian defense forces.

The motto of the National Defense Academy is "Service Before Self". The cadets receive a bachelor of arts or bachelor of technology degree after completion of their training. The mandatory courses are English, military sciences, physics, chemistry, and a foreign language.

Visiting this institution was really a fun experience. We learned a lot of new things and even witnessed a passing-out parade. The environment was filled with motivation and positivity.
